After several months of not listening to BTW (not because I didn't want to, but because I hadn't had time), I finally listened to it yesterday.

Wow, it's just as great as I remember . It was actually better since I liked Bad Kids (one of the few songs that I had never considered as good). The only song that I still dislike is Highway Unicorn. Sorry, but I can't get into it .

Born This Way is definitely Gaga's best album .

With the Born this Way album, I listen right through to Bloody Mary, and then it all falls apart a bit. I have to be in the mood for Bad Kids, and I am always underwhelmed by Highway Unicorn and Heavy Metal Lover. Obviously the last few are listened to because they are amazeballs, but I think without those two weak songs the album would flow better.

For me, The Fame Monster was my favourite, I regularly stick it on and can listen to it right through, over and over again,

I was talking to my (non-stan) friend yesterday and she was saying how much better BTW was compared to TF/M and couldn't understand why people didn't prefer it.

BTW is just a brilliant album. Some weaker tracks of course, but I like each one.

A bit of an exhausted topic, but a more refined tracklist would have made such a difference. It's just a little bit bloated:

Marry The Night
Born This Way
Government Hooker
Scheisse
Judas
Heavy Metal Lover
Bloody Mary
Electric Chapel
You & I
The Edge of Glory

Bonus:

Hair

Born this Way is brilliant, my second favourite album, but I think with a more refined track list and better marketing, it could have been even better.

DJ White Shadow described it as "fun" and that we'll be "surprised" by who produced the lead single.

Apparently, Gaga on her last BTWB show for months described it as "immature" and "the anti-BTW". Awaiting receipts.

Expect it to be Gaga herself .

The anti-BTW?? That sounds pretty interesting.

You wait till people take 'anti-Born This Way' out of context.

"WHAT? She's going to be telling people that they're UGLY and they have no redeeming features?!?!?!"

That's my theory too. Trust Gaga to be such a control freak that she produces her music as well as singing and writing it, then directing the video.

Yeah, anti-BTW sounds like she's paid attention to what didn't work with that album and is addressing it with a lighter, less serious and more fun Gaga.

It's more likely that you'll get every detractor in the land taking a "I told you so" stance on BTW being shit and her label desperately trying to return to TF days.

Not sure if I like that tbh . Did she write Ke$ha or Katy lyrics?

I hope that quote doesn't mean that she will stop writing good and meaningful songs. The other sense that I can give to the phrase is that she will challenge some rules and that she might even upset some people with her new songs.

I think this album is going to be about sex, drugs and rock n roll tbh.

Sounds like she's trying to break free of this preachy niche she's got herself into. Much less "love yourself cus you were Born This Way my Little Monsters!" and far more "Imma free bitch, now dance you mother****ers!" attitude.

I wouldn't worry about her becoming basic. She's far too intelligent and pretentious for that. She'll do lighthearted/fun in her own Gaga way.

I pray that Hair wasn't the basis for this 'fun'.

Well, I actually like Hair , so I wouldn't mind if some songs sound like it.

I do too but I think it's overproduced, although I prefer the album version to the acoustic.

I would say that is about spot on

I think the new album will fall somewhere between TF/TFM and BTW. Not to heavy and not to light

DJ Whiteshadow thinks we'll be surprised eh? I get a sense of cockiness

This is all very interesting though "fun" "anti-born this way" and "immature" it actually sounds like a recipe for success

I like the idea of ANti-Born This Way as a kinda ironic spin of events...some insane songs, some fun uptempos, maybe the "odd" odd ballad of the album and all very concise with a loose structured concept based on the Decay Of Celebrity.....sounds like something i wouldt mind purchasing and raving too tbh.

As for the Born This Way album...i relistened last week and tbh some songs stand out way more than others now...i guess some of the novelty has worn off about it now...not to say its a bad album....far from it its her best album by miles....but its no longer IMO of coruse truly "brilliant/fantastic" but i do enjoy the better than best songs - Hair, Heavy Metal Lover, Edge, Schiesse, Hooker, Bloody Mary have actually improved with time IMO...but the others either are decent or i have lost interest in.

We will see where she ventures off next but i am intrigued. But it is blatant the label have control over her this time round...but i think it will be for the better.

Also i take it Dj Brownstain is the producer of the lead song

mind you i actually liked Hooker so we will see how it sounds dahlings

Gaga's retained creative control, I'm sure.

She's not in a position where her label would really need to intervene, she's smart enough to know what didn't work and how to address that without their prompting. I dare say there was a frank discussion, but I doubt they had to tell her what to do....they seem to respect her artistry/independence too much for that.

Her manager said that if it were up to Interscope, she'd have had the album out already...so it's safe to assume they aren't being too domineering.

I'm looking forward to DJWS's productions. He's great.

Gaga mentioned as a devil worshipped because of Judas on Thelma's Gypsy Girls.

Not sure how I feel about the lack of immaturity for this album I can understand them going for a more fun approach this time round but I hope she hasn't descended into Fame land and all we get is an album a dance tunes with little to no substance.
