Liked the look of the ad she looked Hot. Sorry I can't think of anything more artistic to say about it apart from that, imagine full sized posters of it in shops they might get some complains lol.

What i love about the cover of the perfume ad is it reminds me a bit of Madonnas Erotica era...the Dita masks...the facade....the erotic symbolism and dominator approach.
It also YES Taboo, reminds me a bit of her Alejandro look...very high fashion, vry risquee. It continues the monochrome approach of the Born This Way cover and era art too. And it incorporates a lot of popular fictions too...scorpion/muscular/masculine AND gullivers travels ![]() so basically its a representation of Pop...of Born This Way...of sexuality...of masculine and femenine...basically its for the gays and the ladies and the open minded str8 bois

Funny you mention Madonnas Erotica my Mum was listening to it this morning getting her-self ready for Hyde Park tonight. |

Yeah, I've seen Madge fans trying to claim the Dita similarity.
Saw Stefano Gabbana saying it ripped off the Truth or Dare ad, too. Maybe Klein is trolling us all. |

And Madonna Erotica EPIC!! been blasting it all last night....loads of my friends are going Hyde Park tonight for the MDNA Tour...ugh! your mum will have a fantastic time....hope she and my friends all party hard for me! |

Like i said in the M AT thread....gaga must watch her back...not for fanbase backlash...but overall backlash...thats why this album has a lot on it i feel...we will see...hard to word it with "words" on the "keyboard" without sounding like atwisted so and so

its not the fact "Madge fans are trying to claim" it is very similar...but regardless its a connotation that works and it is true...i know gaga herself had Dita as a background to her Twitter wall a few months back didnt she?? well i remember that...she earnt a cool point and re-entered my ipod

That is the concept, however you chose to interoperate it. However, some are prioritising the fact it is in black and white with a mask featured in order to draw comparisons. Neglecting that the mask is futuristic, not dominatrix, and reminiscent of countless items she has worn over the years. We see what we want to see, I guess. Who knows, maybe she was referencing the Eurythmics? Annie did it years before Dita emerged. Or maybe Zorro? Eartha Kitt's Catwoman, perhaps? |

To be blunt, I think it's gotten quite ridiculous how broadly people are granting Madonna creative ownership when it comes to Gaga. She can barely do anything now.

But it is a VERY Dita symbolism in terms of dominance/female/masculine approach...its insipiring and you cannot ignore the influence of Madonna within a lot of these shoots...i mean again FFS Klein is the principal photographer! And Annie Lennox had that mask for Sweet Dreams as a metaphor for blindness within dreams not dominatrix....and tbh i think Zorro and Catwoman are out of the mix And besides Julie Newmar and Lee Marriweather did it before Eartha touched it Its all up for interpretation and i think my analogy and thought is pretty close to it....it recycles so many elements anyway in imagery and symbolism....but the fact is gaga needs to really re-shape a lot of these elements. But again its a case of casual fan vs passionate fan and again i respect that Taboo

But again its a case of casual fan vs passionate fan and again i respect that Taboo ![]() This is Klein aesthetic, not Madonna's. His photographs typically have the saturated palette, hyper masculine homoerotic male models, grunge glamour, female nudity, gender play and almost cinematic painterly quality. From a designers viewpoint, it is black and white in order to highlight the gold of the text and bottle. There's a lot going on in the image and the perfume isn't the focus of the composition, so because it's an ad for the perfume...highlighting is necessary to draw the eye across the entire image. Not denying Madonna's Dita may have influenced this in some shape or form, but people are far too quick to assume and forget perceived similarity is not always intentional. I don't see dominatrix or gender play in this at all, I see futuristic, Gulliver's travels, some sort of narrative about idol worship, perhaps the action of creating a work of art (i.e. the art of Fame) and a play on the perfume making men crawl over her. What you suggest doesn't have clear correlation to Fame. |

Random thought, but Gaga is going to be one of the highest grossing touring acts ever in about 2 tours time.
TMB and TBTWB will gross about $500 million together, and the next two will top a billion dollars. Looks like she's only going to behind U2, Madonna and The Rolling Stones. Bearing in mind she'll be about 10 years into her career by that point and could potentially carry on for a further 20 years...who knows where she'll end up. |

I wouldn't be disappointed if DJWS was producing the lead single. It wouldn't be the surprise I was anticipating but I love his work with Gaga so far and I'm interested to hear further collaborations. I do hope that she works with some new people though - someone unheard of so they can create a new sound together. I think Gaga needs more experience before working on everything herself and I think whenever she works with new people it's interesting and exciting!

Loving the banter between Gaga and Tara, keeps me entertained!
@TaraSavelo: @Ladygaga I'm coming over- today lets re-enact the don't speak video. And no, I won't be tony again I'd love to go out for a night on the town with those two - not sure I'd be able to keep up though! Tara's got good banter with DHWS as well... |

I'm loving how down to earth/self-aware she's been these days. It's very refreshing, and letting us see how hilarious she is. Tara has been a great influence, I feel. Taylor probably too.
Ed (one of her bodyguards, the one who speaks in GH) has a twitter too and was having some banter with Tara/Gaga too. It's weiiiird/amazing. Hanging out with Lindsay Lohan, her openness about weed/drinking and everything...it seems like she's letting her guard down and I feel it's related to the commentary she's about to make about icons and their decay. Very 'method'. |

Gaga's Twitter is really weird, it looks like she's made a lot of new friends with her tour crew.
