She appears to be really cultivating this "princess" theme for ARTPOP.

What's interesting there is that she's exploring the perfect, idealistic Disney princesses, the classy royal princesses...but also the troubled princesses of pop culture and their downfall. Princess High and Princess Die. We've seen her ode to the fallen "princesses" in Princess Die, her "Disney princess in a rave" inspired fibre-optic wig, her recent tiara and fur clad Russian princess style, and there's theories that her recent antics are Britney Spears influenced.

She shaved the back of her head and got a tattoo there, echoing the events of The Princess of Pop's public meltdown when the Fame became too much. I don't think that's a coincidence. She made an art piece out of that iconic moment in pop culture. "The art of Fame" staged in the Guggenheim.

The piece "Sleeping with Gaga" was obviously influenced by Warhol's "Sleep" and Marina Abramović, combined Sleeping Beauty connotations and had a "15 minutes" countdown clearly referencing the "15 minutes of Fame". This fan's interpretation nails it, IMO:

http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ma...fa6o1_1280.png

In short: she arrived regally wearing a crown, people watched her sleep for 2 hours inside a bubble and tried to touch her whilst vulnerable, she then proceeded to get her head tattooed in front of everyone.

Yay! So glad you had a good time!

I agree with you about the speech thing - obviously I'm not going to begrudge her a few minutes break when she works so hard for 2 and a half hours but it did grate after a while. She's so funny and has so great stories which I love hearing but I could do with less of the preaching if I'm honest. Works for some though, and I did know to expect it at a Gaga show.

I can't believe she did the whole show having just flown back from NYC as well - the woman's got stamina of steel! And the really exciting thing about Gaga is that - this is how she runs a tour now , only 4 years into her showbiz career. She's such an amazing stage presence already, and she's only going to get better! What will she be like in another 5/10 years time??
Exactly! She flew in from NYC after her launch party and proceeded to kill it on stage till half 10. She went out drinking afterwards, as well. Plus, DJWS flew in to Dublin so she obviously spent the day working on music.

The bitch never stops.

She's only going to improve as time goes by - she's already a pro after 2 tours. In 10 years time I expect she'll have such a slick production that it'll be awe inspiring. Right now it's a little rough around the edges because it's so Haus-orientated, but when everyone has more experience...it'll be flawless.

I know...i mean i think they both know what it will bring I mean the fanbases both sides are hysterical....imagine that times 100000!

Plus if they do i kinda hope it pays homage to their Latin routes too perhaps...a godfather teleplay something tiwsted....plus Klein is a massive friend of M (American Life/X-Static Process, COADF/Tour, HC/S&S Tour team ups/visuals) and of course gaga has done Alejandro with him and now this FAME project also....would be interesting if they worked as a trio

I am kinda really outrageously excited by the prospects of it.

Plus if gaga is doing this ode to Disney Princess/Princess going wild and Madonna of course being the Iron Woman Of Pop....they can have all this symbolism throughout it!

Oh dear i have gone overboard....

And wow as the intro...i do think EC, HML, Hooker, Shiesse and BM are my favourite songs off of BTW on relisten....i just am wondering with this Dance vibe where she is going to take it with ARTPOP.

Ooh I'd like another Gaga/Madonna SNL sketch, it has the possibility to finally put all those feud rumours aside. They could have so much fun with it and just take the mickey out of the media! Has a lot of potential.

So Gaga is nominated for a few EMAs including Best Video for MTN, best live act and best fans. I really really hope she gets Best Live Act - I think it's thoroughly deserved!

And I must add onto what everybody else here has been saying, in that I'm loving her style at the moment - the Disney princess theme as well as just looking so damn classy! Though i could do without the fur in everybody's faces thing, I'm sure she's doing it just to wind others up, and who knows, it's probably not even real fur. Or at least I hope not. Hehe Perez is gonna have a sh**storm!!

So glad that so many people enjoyed the Dublin show, she got great reviews as far as I can see! I wish I could have gone again... though there are rumours she's back in Europe in June 2013 or something? That would be immense!!

Not sure how I feel about Madonna and Gaga performing together now.

It'd be nice to laugh at the silliness and draw a line under it, but after how one sided the feud has been I feel a reconciliation is mostly just benefiting Madonna. She'll have got to have her cake and eat it too, so to speak.

Anyways.

Yeah, she's definitely trolling with the fur. She's doing it to piss PETA off.

It'd be cool if she does come back for a two week long UK leg. She could play Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast this time, a couple of shows in Manchester and maybe Wembley Stadium in London...or a string of O2 shows.

I would second that - Madge has bitched for to long and used Gaga to draw attention to herself - Gaga should give her a wide berth.

Madge is the past Gaga is the present and future

Exactly. The "reductive" comment was her free shot after being specifically asked about BTW, but everything since has looked bitter and immature. The shady mash-up she performs every night on tour, the "I'm glad I helped her write it" dig and now her "imitation is the highest form of flattery" comment...it's all just so unnecessary, especially when you consider that Gaga hasn't responded beyond one ambiguous speech about not wanting to fight back against negativity and telling her fans on LM.com not to "shade Madonna". I suppose the silver lining is that she's actually made herself look pretty pressed without Gaga having to retaliate.

I just think it'll make Gaga look like a pushover. Taking the digs, not fighting back and then working with her anyway.

Maybe it is a fabricated feud, though, and it was always the plan to reconcile publicly for effect. A kind of Velma and Roxie 'Chicago' love/hate collab. The hype would certainly be insane.

It's too one sided to be a fabricated feud. I think if it was they would both be having a go at each other to get the most out of it.

I think is genuine bitching on M's side and Gaga ignoring it as best she can

What the Actual????

Madonna only retaliated because gaga fabricated that Madonna and co gave permission to sample Express Yourself...which was proven untrue and then later she called comparisons "retarded" that was what instigated it and Madonna then obviously heard back from her team and then laid the law down.

Madonna is not "bitching" it is preaching and hardly one sided and fabricated....i saw both perspectives....i find it rediculous that people would even call it "Madonna makes another dig..." i find it completely rediculous!

Madonna has always said she loves gaga, why else would she make it part of the MDNA tour? and why else would she have made it to THAT many shows like gaga did/does vice versa....it is all fabricated from both corners of fanbases...one side cant stand that Madonna is still successful, the other side through defensiveness at a contemporary leading lady in the Pop industry.

Anyways i have said my piece. I say bring em on! I wanna see what the pairing will do and draw a line under it!

Oh Josh, I'm just choosing to ignore it all, everyone's entitled to their opinions some may argue Madonna is being horrible to Gaga others may say Gaga isn't worthy of anything to do with Madonna but I simply think hey they're two women in the music industry and it's bound to happen, it doesn't matter who they are as long as they're women, Madonna is simply planting the seeds and letting the press do the rest, making themselves look silly lapping up a pile of shit

Anyways.

OUT magazine had some nice words to say about Gaga:

Aaron Hicklin, Editor-in-Chief for Out Magazine
October 2012 Issue - "The Morning After The Night Before - Out Celebrates 20 Years"

One of the amazing things about Gaga was how she's become a catalyst for gay equality, using her celebrity to bring our inequality to the attention of the public. The fact that we now live in a country where a slim-but-growing majority supports same-sex marriage reflects the great distance we've traveled Ina relatively short time.
