Wow amazing! Imagine how much it'll sell when it is actually released everywhere!

Nice to see Tamar Braxton bigging her up, and Vince certainly seems to know what he's doing. I really want to hear this new Kendrick/Gaga track - it sounds like Gaga wrote the majority of it, or if not came up with the concept. So seeing as they said it doesn't sound like something she'd do, and that you can't recognise her on it - seems very interesting, especially for ARTPOP.

6 million x ~$60 = $360,000,000 in one week.

There was talk of Gaga taking over Britney's $1.5 billion perfume empire, but I didn't really take that seriously until now.

FAME isn't even available in all markets yet.
You know even as a fan I don't believe this one

I used to be involved in the perfume business and the original forcast was for $100m (that's about 2m bottles) in the first year and these guys tend to over predict

As you say it not available everywhere but even if is was 6m in a week is just so far away from expectations it becomes unbelievable

Having said thay my girlfriend has it and I can confirm is very nice indeed

I was skeptical, but what got me thinking is Vince being quite specific and candid about it. Why would he have this 6 million figure and Coco Chanel reference unless he was told that (presumably by Coty)? I'd expect marketing BS from Gaga and Troy, but Vince always comes across as no-BS.

Plus, they have spent a reported $30 million on advertising this perfume. They're playing big to win big and it truly has major buzz.

I wouldn't be surprised if what Vince was told was that 6 million items/bottles were shipped WW in the first week and are expected to sell before the year is out, perhaps even more, which rivals Coco Chanel's 10 million bottles a year.

Unless there ends up being some sort of genuine statement released via the manufacture I just cannot believe the 6 million figure. For one week that seems totally impossible and I would have expected them to be screaming it from the roof tops if true.

6 million means she has almost matched the yearly Chanel intake within 7 days. I'm sorry it has to be BS. Nothing sells that quickly or that fast. Plus its quite expensive. Everywhere I have seen its selling at over £40. So 6 million bottles sold at that price in 7 days has to be untrue.

Improbable doesn't mean impossible.

But yes, official confirmation is obviously needed.

I don't think 6 million sold by the end of the year is out of the question - there's been a lot of interest in this, and it's so innovative in it's aesthetic and also the way it's been promoted that I think it'll sell really well.

I wonder how it'll progress, whether they'll be more perfumes and maybe other things. Gaga is such a perfectionist that I can't imagine she'd go into projects lightly, so if she were to branch out into other things it would take a lot of planning and dedication on her part.

We're approaching holiday season, so I dare say that'll do wonders. Plus, the exposure will increase when she's active again...and you know FAME will inevitably make an appearance in her video(s).

If I were her, I'd release a black fragrance for men next year so as to complete the first "collection". She's got enough male fans for it to be a smart business venture, and the technology is already there so it's simply a case of creating the smell and design.

I've seen it suggested that it should be called MONSTER, which makes a lot of sense. It's masculine enough to carry a male fragrance, it's a word that is intrinsically associated to her brand - dare I say, 'iconic' even - and there's a lot she can do creatively. Not to mention, FAME and MONSTER make a logical first Gaga fragrance collection.

I don't want her to have lots of perfumes. I think it'll cheapen the product if she does. I'd say following FAME and MONSTER, she should wait a few years before the next one. Perhaps it could be unisex, and blood red.

So I just watched E! News going on about the whole "pregnancy" thing. Sharon Osborne said she thinks Gaga is pregnant she said by "instinct" she knew or something like that and then of course her daughter Kelly felt the need to go further to comment on Gaga's "baggy" clothing as of recent

Like they would know! i mean it might turn out that she is, but i doubt she'd smoke up on stage if she were - and as toanythingtaboo said before Gaga's too driven to do that just yet, maybe in a few years! Having said that, if it happened by accident...?

Anyway it's all speculation until if/when Gaga says something. Other than that, she's just put on some weight and everybody's talking about it.

Where've you been BadKid? Haven't seen you on here for a while? how's sixth form going?

The smoking thing was what made me think too, plus that was left out she wouldn't do that whilst pregnant of course. Plus there's ARTPOP and the American tour, it couldn't happen. I think the Osbornes should do their homework next time

And homework has been what's been keeping me MissMusique, well that and just I'm getting rather sick of DS (nobody on here) but just all these silly people mouthing off when they don't know the facts

I would say so - for somebody so young she's got a good head on her shoulders. You've probably already seen this but it's a good thread on gagadaily with all the combined information so far, speculated and unconfirmed included, on ARTPOP

http://gagadaily.com/index.php?showtopic=30764&st=0

It's quite interesting to see it all laid out like that.

For some reasons whenever a woman puts on weight, there's tons of press and speculation - she must be pregnant!! Rather than she probably is just eating properly during the tour to keep her strength up, and has put on some weight.

What subjects are you doing BadKid? I remember when I started sixth form, the increase in workload threw me for a loop!
When you say people mouthing off, about whom do you mean? Gaga, Madonna, both?
There's lots of that going on here, that's why I mostly just stay on here and the book forum

I know, I guess it's just the life blood of the media

I'm doing English Lit, Religious Studies, History and Politics. Too music reading involved and yeah it's mainly everybody jumping on the bandwagon and dissing Gaga some of the comments on the DS articles are annoying, certain people cropping up over and over again, it's simple surely, if you don't like her then just stay away

Ooh I did English lit and History too as well as french and music. Loads of reading and writing, but if you like the material you're studying then it's ok! For my 1st term in history we studied Robert Peel which i really hated, my teacher wasn't very inspiring in the way that he taught it and I just wasn't that interested at the time. As soon as we got onto the Russian Revolution I enjoyed it much more!

Gaga is always going to be an artist that polarizes - it's in her nature. She's constantly looking to shock people and a lot of what she does is difficult for people to understand or appreciate. The fact that so many people complain about her and feel the need to always comment, means she's gotten under their skin - which is probably what she wanted in the first place!

As she says in the BTWB - 'I don't give a f***!'

I'm liking these open top car entrances.

I think it ties to her 50s/60s vibe of late, referencing the open top car parades of American royalty...but also them being black and covered in flowers, there's an element of "hearse" funeral procession. She's arriving to her FAME launches in morbid glamour.

I'm hoping the era evokes 50s/60s style. It's a much more original and interesting take than pop art imagery. I also love Terry Richardson's photographs of her recently, they're so glamorous yet provocative and fresh yet timeless.

Plus, I like how clean and effortless they are, they'll counterbalance how contrived and heavy her imagery can get.

She's definitely dressing a lot classier of late - I hope this is an indication of the artistic direction for ARTPOP.
I've only seen the Terry Richardson one of her on the loo, and I have to say I've never seen somebody look so classy when they're sitting on the toilet! She looks beautiful

So...Vincent Herbert said in an interview that Madonna's manager contacted them to ask Gaga to perform with her on tour at Yankee Stadium.

This would explain why Madonna said that she'd perform with Gaga "very soon" before dedicating Masterpiece to her.

Apparently she can't do it though because of her own tour, but if this is true and they do want to reconcile...this could bring something interesting.
