MissMusique I know she really can't win hehe...bless her lol! When do you think we'll hear news???

I have a feeling Gaga is waiting for Beyonce to go first, much like she did with Britney in 2011.

She won't want the launch of ARTPOP to be cut short thanks to someone else launching their album, so it's better for her to sit back and cut theirs short (). Especially because Beyonce's exposure is about to go through the roof with the Superbowl and Pepsi deal.

~$162 million with 39 NA dates to go. To out-gross TMB she'll have to gross $1.7 million per show. IIRC the average gross should be $2-2.5 per show.

Flop like Lady Gaga.

And this for an album that supposedly didn't connect with the public! Can't wait to see how she's revamped the show for North America. I would guess its quite similar with maybe costume changes and a set list switch up
toanythingtaboo

There'll be the same folk on here who will paint it as a flop, probably citing fan over-estimations as the reason.

Regardless. To gross ~$162 million without even hitting North America is why she is second only to Madonna as a pop touring force.

Wasn't TMB about 220 shows to the BTWB's 110 so higher gross with half the shows

Someone from GGD spelled it out for everyone:

In 2011 she made $70 M from 45 shows. Mind that and count. $161.4 M + $55-60 M = $216,4 M to $221,4 M.

If we are trying to speak the language of numbers, we should always analyze the numbers we are concentrating on.
First of all, she will have played 119 dates comparing to 201 of Monster Ball. It means Gaga will have played 40,79% LESS CONCERTS.
Gaga will probably sell around 2,100,000 tickets for all the Born This Way Ball (comparing to 2,500,000 tickets of Monster Ball). It means she will sell 16% LESS TICKETS.
Finally, she will gross min. $211,4 M (comparing to $227 M of the Monster Ball). It means she will gross 6,87% LESS CASH.

To sum up: Gaga is playing 41% LESS CONCERTS, selling 16% LESS TICKETS and grossing 6,87% LESS CASH.
Now what can one say from these numbers?
1) The drastic decrease in the number of tour dates comparing to the Monster Ball didn't result in the corresponding decrease of the ticket sales. Gaga will have played 40% less shows and she was supposed to sell 40% less tickets, when in fact the sales will drop just 16%. It means Gaga is playing larger venues now, which is a positive sign anyways.

2) The 16% drop of ticket sales comparing to the Monster Ball is supposed to result in the 16% gross decrease, when in fact the worst scenario sees just 7% cash drop. It means that Gaga tickets are higher priced than they used to be with the Monster Ball. So people are ready to pay more money to see Gaga (except South America)! It's also a positive sign, on one hand. On the other hand, it means for some fans who have already seen the BTWB it's already time to start saving money for ARTPOP tour.

3) She will be the second female solo artist to place two $200 M tours after Madonna. Is that an underperformance?

/\/\/\/\ yep makes sense and she dosn't drive herself into the ground doing to many concerts

A quick rest after the US leg of BTWB and it's on to promoting ARTPOP I expect

2013 - The year of ARTPOP is upon us!!! I wonder how we'll all be feeling this time next year looking back?
MissMusique
03-01-2013
Who knows what this next year will bring?

I reckon you're right toanythingtaboo about waiting for Beyonce - all that is going to start pretty soon what with the Superbowl and everything so perhaps we'll have more news after that.

I reckon hoping for a Beyonce/Gaga collaboration with Azalia on Ratchet is too much to hope for! Who knows?

I can't wait to look back on all our speculation when we have the new album and see what we were right about!

This tour has been a massive success no matter how you try to paint it. She's done her first worldwide stadium tour - only 4/5 years into her career and it was a risk that's paid off. It's very impressive!

Fans are apparently saying that there is some crazed stalker fan going after Gaga in Vancouver, not sure if it's true but stuff like this always worries me. I hope that Gaga's team are onto it.

This will always be a danger to her as she makes herself so available to fans. Must be a nightmare for her security team
MissMusique

I'm sure there's more than just one crazy fan out there. Her security, as Slojo said, must have a nightmare looking after her, especially as she gives them the slip sometimes!!

Wondering whether all these Ratchet rumours will come to fruition? The collaboration between her Beyonce and Azalea? Part of me believes it, but the other doesn't as Gaga said there wouldn't really be collaborations and I can't imagine her wanting her first single to be a joint effort?

Still I wouldn't be surprised if Gaga and Beyonce are talking regarding when they'll individually release stuff. They're friends and I can't imagine they'd release 1st singles/album at the same time.

Well I think her time in Vancouver is over now isn't it? So she should be safe. I'm not too sure.

This time 4 years ago 'Just Dance' was #1!

I still can't believe it's been 4 years... It's kinda incredible really! So intrigued to see what she comes up with next. Bring on ARTPOP!!

Ah 2009 was a great year with Gaga, Florence, Little Boots and La Roux, shame it's only really worked out for the first two since

I was hoping we'd have some more ARTPOP details by now!

Yeah! Honestly thought we would get something off her around Christmas/New Year hmmm...she is a tease! I'm sure I read on Billboard's twitter that she's releasing the first single at the end on January but I doubt that and it's possibly confused with the whole Beyonce thing which we still need to hear the end of!

I've been going through a real Gaga-faze lately. I have all her songs on my iPod anyway but I downloaded tons of acapellas/instrumentals/live versions last night

I love finding new performances that she's done - especially from right at the beginning. And also the songs that weren't released - I can still remember when I first heard Fool me Again, love that song.

I hope in her future (whether it's this album or the next) that she does something more stripped back with just her and the piano. Or perhaps if she does an album with a second cd of those tracks rearranged for piano. She's so good at that - I'd love to see more of it. But all of her tracks anyway she does on piano as that's where she composes - but some of my favourite performances of hers are stripped back. Like MTN on Alan Carr or Hair on the French tv show.

I love her at the piano too

I think I'm beginning to realize I prefer more simple songs from Lady Gaga. Born This Way (album) is very deep and meaningful and requires a brain to work half of it out I much prefer 'The Fame/Monster' in terms of fun upbeat songs but with clever lyrics (Some may disagree but 'Poker Face' is cleverly written).

I remember first listening to Poker Face on the train into London, and thinking 'this is actually amazing'. It was the song that made me love her music really.

I think if i had to pick things from both eras it would be the music from BTW, coupled with how she was in TF/M period. I think she needs to display her sense of humour more (as she's been doing on twitter a little) and not take herself too seriously, which I think is the plan.

From the ARTPOP era I want some iconic well thought out performances, great catchy tunes and some hilarious interviews. People have gone off her because she started taking herself too seriously I think. I know some sections of her fans are getting worried because to them it's really important that she 'slays' and in their mind reaffirms her position at the top of the pile, but for me - I just want great music with some fab performances. I don't care about #1's - especially when you see what does become #1 these days...
