This from the poster who claimed he had 'evidence' to try and back up his opinion on yet another Adele thread then moaned incessantly when asked to produce it instead of admitting there actually wasn't any evidence at all.

PS Disappear? I have to do other things that don't involve DS let alone the internet. I'm certainly not one for posting summat and then constantly refreshing the page to see if it's attracted a response! How about you?

PPS and as regards ignoring responses, about this 'evidence' you claimed you had...

PPS i'm now going to put the curry on if that's OK with you. I'm then going to see my nieces band play their first gig tonight so don't think I'm 'disappearing' again if you don't get an immediate response to your inevitable response.

I don't like Adele not Gaga true, but that's the first time I've brought it up in the thread. In fact most of the artists that get brought up on these boards are a joke but thats not the point here.
Had you bothered to read anything rather than deciding its 'PJ Stans' (odd when I've already stated I Prefered 50 Words For Snow) vs Adele you'd see My issue here is with the name of the award and how they've awarded it.
If you ever bother to read the thread you can count how many times I've made that clear.
You clearly haven't bothered to read the prior parts of the thread and you're not going to start so I'll help you out.
I've mentioned it loads. Probably every second post I've made I've gone out of my way to point out its the name of the award and how it was given out that's the issue.
Again facts. Bah!

Still no challenge, I see. My point is you seem to spend the vast majority of your time on the Music Forum slagging off people you don't like. Now, it's a free country and of course you can do what you like within the law but don't expect not to have it mentioned on here. It's the constant need for negativity I don't get and i know we've had this conversation before. Surely you would feel better posting positively on artists you actually DO like occassionally?

What challenge?
What are you on about?
If there's a thread about folk I like I'll join in. If there's a thread trying to make out that some turd is the second coming then I'm going to call a turd a turd. It's quite fun. And most of them make it so easy with their shiteness.
But again not what this thread is about.

If Adele or any of the bawbags that get brought up on here write a song half as good as This Guys In Love then I will buy a hat and eat it. Then, just before I choke to death, I'll come on her and type a compliment about it.

It's like beyonce and mariah I know they co-write their own songs mariah in particular is very hands on however i'd like to see these people write a song all by themselves lyrics and melody just something I feel strongly about as a songwriter myself.”

Well not to go off topic, but almost the entirety of Mariah Carey's work, particularly before her last two effort, had Mariah as the biggest contributor. For example, Mariah not only wrote the lyrics to Hero herself, but she also aided in the musical composition, doing the melody herself. You can have talent and be top 40 at the same time. It annoys me how success apparently taints peoples' talents and means it can be dismissed so easily.

If it comes to that, we should celebrate this with a song

You'd better make it the Shirelles or Beatles version or I know one forum member who will be getting haunted!

If you bothered to have a proper adult discussion about things instead of ignoring responses you don't like we could have resolved that and you wouldn't be banging on about it still in a completely unrelated thread. As usual, you're changing the subject and failing to respond to what people have posted because you don't like what they have to say.

I think everyone can see what you're like with your cingeworthy use of childish comments like "stans" .

You can say what you want, but I have not often seen Burt in a more humble mood, he must have tought, oh this is the reincarnation of another blue eye soul singer.

Burts never heard this blue eyed soul singer on Karaoke.
He'd learn a whole new definition of humble. Or hell.
Fine line.

Oh I saw him with his magnificent white hair. It looks like he's balancing an ice cream on his head.
I don't know if it's a regular thing but Burt does a lot of gigs where he gets names of the day to sing with him.
I remember a duet with Noel Gallagher from years ago.

I'm just watching a thing about Bacharach and David that I had recorded. Very distinctive sound. The horn arrangements give away who has written the song every time.
BJ Thomas sporting a delightful tasseled suede coat while singing the theme from arguably the best film
Ever.
I'm never going to get ready for the football at this rate.

True, but you shouldn't keep bringing up things in current threads and old threads which people have already responded to but you've chosen to ignore. You only do that if you can't accept the other person's point of view. A bit like a young kid putting their fingers in their ears and going "nah nah nah nah"....and then calling you a "stan" for no apparent reason .

Not at all.
I just think its more fun to try and have a laugh even if you're slagging something off or admiring a fine suede coat.

And frankly you say they felt obliged to give her the award i feel the same about Harvey it was ovbious it was gonna be her or Adele as Pj Harvey is the cool critically acclaimed album of the moment Adle gets the pop awards and seemingly Polly gets the prestigious awards which looking at the Ivor Nevello the two most hyped up and critically acclaimed albums of the last year win the two biggest awards so swings and round abouts.”

Pj Harvey does hype??? Best Album cat. could just as easily gone to Kate Bush as what happened 2 weeks ago at the South Bank Awards. PJ just happened to make an album about WW1, which was very different to any other album released during the year, and it caught the music critics attention, but not everyone liked it., eg Rolling Stone mag gave it 3 stars The album has not sold well. Her albums rarely chart here neither are they "radio friendly", nor does she ever do much to promote them other than a few selected gigs. She rarely does interviews. The last thing she can ever be accused of is hype or having a publicity machine behind her..

My bold. That's a perfectly good point. The only issue I'd have regarding it is that one the music forum here, there is a rather prevalent way of thinking about music that is unrealistic, immature and one-dimensional.

A number of posters (I don't pay enough attention to know who they are or who they like) think in terms of 'music royalty' and sales equating quality, superiority and talent. When these people (probably 12-year-olds) spread their nonsense, it's refreshing to have something else to create some balance.

Actually it would be far better not to have incessant jabbering about mediocre 'artists' and to concentrate on discussing those many honest artists who can actually cut it musically without a plethora of fixers behind them masking their shortcomings.

I do support the idea of drawing attention to lesser known talent rather than only existing online to drag down the dross, though.
