Last series was complete cringe with all them dance moves he was doing.

I had hoped that a new presenter was being lined up.... guess not now

I love Dermot. I think he's a great host. One of the best in the business, he handles the live shows masterfully. It requires a certain skill and he has it in abundance. The dance moves were certainly 'complete cringe' but I suspect that was the point. I don't think we were meant to take them seriously.

I honestly think they'd struggle to find someone much better than Dermot. He has a personality without feeling the need to take over the show. He's a decent, likeable guy, he knows what he's doing, he sticks up for the acts, I don't know what more you really want from a presenter.

Dermot was dreadful in his first two years, but has made massive improvements. I seriously thought he was abysmal at first, but I think he does a great job these days. I can't think of anyone who could do the role as well as him.

Oh dear, you obviously dont have much of a sense of humour. It was called fun, and he was brilliant. Perfect for the role. You are in a minority there.

I really like Dermot.
I certainly don't want to see him replaced and end up with someone like Steve Jones, now that would be bad.

I think Dermot has grown into being a very competent presenter now and he's also an excellent DJ on radio2 too.

This.

He brings some nice light-heartedness to the main show.

Dermot dancing was one of the few positives about the last series. And he is rightly back this year, his popularity seems the same as ever.

I like Dermot and he is very good, the X Factor is just the type of show that needs things changing up every now and then. I'd personally have said Holly W but she's doing the Voice so thats out, i think she could have lead it but yeah Dermot is perfect for this now...but if Cowell wants to keep revamping and keeping the show interesting as possible then the host is a good idea, but Dermot is quite brilliant.

USA?! I think Ellen DeGeneres would be perfect but i dont think she will, she seemed to have got really bored at AI. Other than that, Miley Cyrus and one of the Jonas brothers wouldn't be THAT bad or would it. Jenifer Lopez or Paula would be good obviously on their own of course but we know thats not an option. I also think Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmell would be considerations.

I say go with Ellen, if she says NO? then maybe Dermot he would be great but yeah the UK needs him. Cat Deeley would be good.

I'm amazed people think there is any difference from series to series. With the exception of the rather silly dance moves last year, Dermot recites the exact same script year after year. He essentially says the same things every series.

He's a steady hand. Which is what the show requires. And he was always better than Kate Thornton, whatever his faults in the earlier years.

I love Dermot. There have been enough other changes these last few years - viewers like familiarity. You just need to watch Steve Jones on XF US to realise how good Dermot is. A good presenter makes the job look effortless - but if they are no good it makes very uncomfortable viewing.
