I remember that quote she also slagged off gaga repeatedly and was never shy in disregarding her pop peers.

And yes they do seem Lazy there were some great songs on the album others just fractured the cohesion of the album and the time they are taking on the album with no gigs or no music is short of stupid it will be less a comeback more a revival.

And i know 2009 little boots and la roux were at the fore front but generic danc ehas just taken over you may like Nicki and the Dove think Florence meets Ladyhawke after a session with abba.

I do like Niki and the Dove - there is a darkness to their music, which I appreciate.

I'm in love with Kylie and Kate at the moment whilst i Wait for paloma with lashings of Marina too

i'm reallly enjoying Impossible Princess, Body Language, and Hounds Of Love at the moment its also helping to show just how good and unique Electra is even if it is more pop sounding and commercial.

I love Electra Heart so much

I am a bit skeptical on Paloma Faith's new album. I know you can't judge an album based on a small sampler but just not got a good feeling.

I loved TFJ but in parts it didnt come together but Electra Heart is perfect apart from starring roles it is nothing short of genius.

And im not to worried but i get what you mean there seems like a lack of progression but we shall see.

I love threads like these; It's a great way of finding new artists/bands.

Currently I'm listening to Best Coast's new album, "The Only Place", personal highlights include The Only Place and Last Year

I'm also listening to First Aid Kit in particular Emmylou, King Of The World and The Lion's Roar. I need to buy that album at some point.

I've been listening to Fiona Apple a lot recently too. Fast As You Can, Criminal and Please Please Please are great songs.

I'd forgotten how much I loved Sia's music. It's nice to see her having some commercial success even though I'm not a fan of Flo Rida's work. Some of my favourites include Buttons, I'm In Here, Hurting Me Now and Never Gonna Leave Me.

I found a band called Surfer Blood by accident on Spotify last year. Floating Vibes, Take It Easy and Harmonix played on my iPod whilst on shuffle the other day. Their music sounds summery to me.

I love The Civil Wars at the moment too. Barton Hollow never gets old. I love I've Got This Friend too. Their voices were made for each other!

Hey mimicole interesting choices there Fiona Apple is someone im yet to really give time too knowing little of her is she in the same school as your Pj Harveys and Sarah Mclalchlans.

A good summery album i love is Pala by Friendly Fires from the cover to the songs epic.

And yes Lm im curious as to how Paloma has progressed as Lana has made it big and she has that whole cinematic feel to it she might get more success.

Hav Mor, thanks so much for making this thread. This is really what the music thread needs. While i would happily spend hours discussing Madonna, Rihanna etc, it's nice to cover some new things in an unrelated thread.

Becky from The Voice didn't have a clue who Janis joplin was
I was shocked to the core

I went through Janis music and I couldn't really like most of it but she was a hell of a talent with a remarkable voice.

Joni Mitchell, i went through her music recently and I couldn't get into it. But she is a tremendous songwriter. Big Yellow Taxi is a classic

Ahh Sarah Mclachlan, what a voice. I must explore her music at some point. Her music was used a lot in Buffy, at rather emotional times. She makes my heart melt when i hear her voice.
