..just purchased a low cost (Zenethink) tablet for my Dad. It comes with Android 4 (ICS) already installed.

Went to market and put BBC iPlayer app onto it - when run it says it needs flash - market now only supports 11.1 ...

Download flash 11.1

Does not play full screen - just continual centre buffering 'twirly'

My tablet is only running Andoid 3 and uses earlier version of flash but I can't get any other version to try out on the new tablet from Android Market..

Why does not the 'latest' OS - the 'latest' Flash and the 'latest' BBC iplayer app not work..... (most frustrating)

Use your tablet browser and go here
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/bigscreen/
it's as good as the app.

Archos 80 ICS 4.03, Flash Player 11.1 works fine for me although it's a letterbox as the Archos screen isn't 16:9. Watching an episode of Episodes as I type.

This suggests a hardware issue to me?

PS I'm using iPlayer via my browser over wifi - not the BBC Android app.

Try using Opera mobile browser, I find this works best when watching BBC iplayer.

iPlayer on ICS works, as someone already said, its likely to be the device configuration/firmware rather than the software. I have tested on galaxy tab without any issues.

...thanks for suggestions from people on here...

I've so far tried

loading Adobe Flash 10.2 - NO GO
using Opera mobile browser - NO GO
using SKY FIRE browser - NO GO
"Official" ADOBE site DOES NOT recognise FLASH for ZENETHINK tablet ..... looks like a 'cheapo' incompatibility problem... The Android 4 (ICS) must have some sort of problem on this tablet....?

Anyway _ I think i'm going to return it and get a refund.....

Can anyone suggest a 'low cost' tablet that WILL work with BBC iPLAYER - that's all I'm asking for - so my Dad can use it.... (NOT worried about Android 4 - any earlier OS will do)

I just got one of these, it's a 7 inch but I think there is a 10 inch available, I wasn't expecting great things from it tbh, but it is an amazing little beast, it has coped with everything I have thrown at it so far, including BBC iPlayer. It has 1 gig ram so its quite nifty!

Wendy Lou (the seller) is very very good, after sales and support is excellent.

Happy choosing!
