John Paul in Hollyoaks once mentioned his grandmother phoned them up every night before Emmerdale, he himself then went on to appear in it

Also, Barbara Windsor appeared on Carry On

Peter Barlow is the most frightening of soap wormholes.

He has been played by 6 actors since he first appeared in 1965, and some of these actors have since appeared in Corrie as different characters. Adding to the fear, Peter Barlow was still appearing in the show when they made their appearances.

Linus Roache appeared as a young Peter between 1973 and 1975. The actor returned to Corrie in 2010 to play Ken's long-lost son Lawrence - Peter's half-brother. The wormhole is gaping.

Joseph Lonsdale played Peter briefly in 1986. The actor reappeared in 2011 as a solicitor and first appeared last night as Kirsty Soames's dad, Ed. All the while Peter Barlow was still at large on the Street.

STAY CLEAR OF PETER BARLOW.

Maybe Peter is actually a Series 4000 mechanoid and is about to be visited by spare head 3

I wonder if his nipples can pick up Jazz FM?

In the 1980's there was a scene in H&A where someone from England rang the diner and asked what was happening in Neighbours (at the time England was about 18 months behind Aussie pace of both H&A and Neighbours)

Bruno Langley played a boyfriend of Candice's in 2000, and then six months later he turned up as Todd. Candice then begun two-timing her boyfriend, who was then recast, with Todd, until they came face-to-face. All very strange.

And then we had Stella Price back in EastEnders as Cindy Beale the other week when Ian Beale attempted to marry Mandy Salter....

Heather and Minty once bonded over their shared love for Eurovision in Eastenders. I wonder what they thought of Ronnie's 1991 effort?

Speaking of Dancing On Ice, I'm pretty sure a couple of years ago a character on Corrie, I think it may have been Deirdre, mentioning she was watching Dancing On Ice the same year that former Corrie resident Ashley Peacock was a contestant.

I wonder why Dot hasn't told Ian that Cindy is still alive? She must know, she watches that documentary featuring Cindy, now known as Stella, living up north.

Corrie: Wonder if Vernon ever returned expecting to find Liz in the Rovers, he would remember that the woman running the pub calling herself 'Stella' was once the wife of his number one enemy Ian Beale in a previous life as 'Tricky Dicky'!

Best thread ever.

Makes a welcome change from all the sniping and moaning.

I wish I could think of some. I remember the phonecall to HA asking about Neighbours

Non-soap Supernatural had a fantastic episode where their lives turned out to be a TV show and all the cast called them by their real names. It was very funny and very clever.

Ian does look puzzled whenever he sees "Cindy's Cafe" on the menus. I wonder if he found out about ITV when he wandered out of Albert Square?

In League of Gentleman, Pauline asked someone whether she looked like Deidre from Coronation Street. A little while later, someone in Coronation Street remarked that they thought they'd wandered into a League of Gentleman sketch.

I'm wondering if 1960s Coronation Street was ever mentioned in Heartbeat?

That would rank among one of the biggest soap wormholes.

God knows how many Corrie actors have appeared in Heartbeat over the years. Gwen Taylor, Geoffrey Hughes, Nikki Sanderson, Bill Maynard, David Lonsdale and Kazia Pelka all had fairly prominent roles in both shows.

The actors in Heartbeat would be referring to episodes of Corrie that were being broadcast before they appeared in it as actors, possibly before they were even born

Two wormholes in tonight's Corrie.

Dev mentioned Reggie Perrin = Sue Nicholls (Audrey) was his secretary in the series.

Tina mentioned Scott and Bailey, starring former Corrie actress Suranne Jones.

In tonight's (well, yesterday's, technically) Eastenders, the Nolans' hit "I'm in the Mood for Dancing" was playing in the Queen Vic. If the Nolans exist in the Eastenders universe then so does Shane Richie.
