AliBaba2010 found this interview, thought I'd post it here as Aiden confirms there's one cover on the album - interesting after the Sia speculation earlier. Also he says he's not too fond of the term 'Grimlings' - and I instantly like him even more than before!

Super glad he's said he's not too fond of the term grimlings...
I've always hated that word to be honest.

I am surprised there is a cover on the album but i really hope it is Sia because i ADORE that song.

Oh my God, i adoreee Breathe Me, it's such an amazing song and i'm SO happy to hear that Aiden has covered it , i actually cannot WAIT for his album now!

Also just listened to the snippets and Poachers Timing sounds like an AMAZING song, it's my favourite already

Thank you for your support, much appreciated. It's lovely to see Matt supporting Aiden after all the support Aiden gave Matt, bless them

I seriously don't get why the single is only at No 38 (unfortunately it's dropped a place during the Jubilee concert). So many good reviews, so many twitter / facebook followers.

Is it due to a quiet, bank holiday weekend or people not giving it a chance as it's 'Aiden Grimshaw off the X Factor'?

I DON'T UNDERSTAND!

And, I really hope this leads to the 'g' word being dropped, I don't think that helps either!

THANK YOU!

I think the song is going to underperform, as much as I hate to admit it. I hope that Aiden's label isn't expecting miracles. Obviously the album has been made now, and they're going to release it, but I hope it's promoted in the way in the way it deserves to be promoted. I literally can't understand why the single is failing to climb in the charts. I hoppe there's an improvement,

I think a little patience may be needed and perhaps we shouldn't expect it to be at the top right away - in many ways he's a new artist, so people in the mainstream need to become familiar with him / the song and once they do it should gain momentum (either within this week or week-on-week)

I totally agree that he should be regarded as a new artist - just hope the label see it that way I'm a bit wary of RCA - have a lot of issues with how they've treated other X Factor artists under their rota, but I'm not sure how they see Aiden. I do genuinely feel like ITL should be placing higher than it is, and can only hope the EP counts for more sales than we anticipated. But if not, I really want the album to be much better promoted. This makes me feel so sad. The song deserves so much better. It is such a good song, and to see it languishing in this way is awful. I don't know what could have happened to make things different.

I would think more people would buy the EP than the single alone - how's it doing on the album chart?

and RCA seem to have invested a lot in him not just in terms of money but also time and effort in 'placement' towards a long-term strategy, so I can't see them throwing in the towel at the first wobble - if indeed this is a wobble at all

Dropped from 12 to 62 in 24hrs!

Looking at the Album chart though, safe to say the Jubilee has had a huge impact, Robbie 'Swing when you're winning' is at no. 10! Best of Kylie at No. 14!

Plus, people started tweeting earlier that the EP didn't count for singles sales and told people to only buy the single, so not sure how much impact that's had

the Jubilee impact will be short-lived, so things should settle down in a couple of days... and as important as Twitter and the internet in general are, he needs more real-world exposure - R1 has been good, but hopefully there's more in the pipeline

ETA - I haven't bought it yet as I'll be combining it with a larger purchase off Amazon in a couple of days (don't do iTunes)... but I reckon there ought to be more reviews here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...ductPromotions

The main one is Marcus Collins - pretty safe to say what happened there. Very quick promotion, no real investment, very much the whole 'get money quick' mentality. I don't trust any label that would buy into that..

And I'm pretty sure Alex Burke is with them at the moment. The less said about her, the better. I'm not a big fan of Alex - don't really like the music she's making - but it's like RCA have given up on her. I just struggle to see how Aiden will thrive at a label that barely puts any promotion into their most estblished of artists.

Aiden simply has not had enough mainstream promtion if they want him to have chart success. There has only been three sources of promotion radio one, chart show tv and one t4 performance. Radio airplay was only starting to increase last week. All the online support and promtion is great, but it doesn't reach a large number of people.

He's quite low on the airplay chart, even lower than Alex! http://www.ukairplaychart.com/uk/rolling_week/ R1 support is good but other stations must not be playing him. Did he do a radio tour?

I bought the single and I've pre-ordered a signed copy of his album

I've just seen a tweet saying he's been 'A playlisted' on MTV which should help as I'm not aware of him being played on there at all up until now

oh dear.
The whole Marcus Collins situation is so obviously a 'get money quick' plan.
I didn't realise he was with RCA

and Alexandra Burke....i'm not a huge fan either but i have heard her latest single hasn't been doing well. Honestly i haven't heard the song once or seen ANY promotion for it.

I think they need to get Aiden out there more, so many people just haven't heard the song/seen any advertisement.

It's seems a bit early to judge RCA at the moment, they let Aiden take his time with album, if they were after quick chart success they would have rushed out a single out as soon as the x factor tour finished.

Yay! that you've bought the single and pre-ordered the album I've ordered the signed album on Play.com as well, plus the Deluxe version on iTunes.

He's only done a couple of phone interviews with radio stations, one in Ireland and one with Matt Edmonson on R1 (can't think of any others ) and been on R1 live with Scott Mills but that's it I think. R1 & @thehitsradio are the only National Radio stations I'm aware of that have played the single, the rest are all small, local stations

That list really puts everything into perspective, doesn't it? The radios have so much power, but they choose to wield that playing the likes of Carly Rae Jepsen (which has surely had enough promotion at this point?) Even Chris Brown is higher than Aiden! But you know what? We all know that Is This Love was an astounding first single for Aiden to come out with. Hopefully his label are willing to put in the long term commitment. So many first singles, and even so many first albums don't receive the sales they deserve. It doesn't change the fact that they do deserve those sales! I still listen to JC Chasez's one and only album despite the fact that it flopped spectacularly. And I don't know if Aiden's will, but I feel like that boy is in it for the long term, no matter what happens. We have so much to be excited about, and if his first single doesn't set the charts alight then so be it. We can deal with that. Come what may.

Aiden has a lot of support behind him, and everything points towards him having an astounding first album. I for one am so excited to hear it, whatever the future may hold. I hope Is This Love will climb the charts this week, but if it doesn't, Aiden should feel content in the knowledge that he couldn't have released a stronger first single. Sometimes things don't turn out the way they should. Sometimes they do. And whatever happens, we'll be here to support him through thick and thin, no matter what the nay-sayers have to pick at the situation. I hope everyone is feeling as positive as I do right now.
