I don't know personally, not sure where you access those kinds of figures.

Someone on Buzzjack may be able to find out if you asked.

Thanks. I don't feel the need to know myself. The album underperformed, I know that much, but it's still my favourite album of 2012 regardless.

And that's what music should be about - listening to what you like and not even being aware of the sales figures and chart position. I have CDs from loads of artists, who if you asked me what their sales/chart position had been, I would just not have any idea. The problem with following an XF artist is that you become vested in them as a person due to the backstage vids etc and end up knowing far more than you need to. As long as they sell enough to make more albums and do tours that I can get to, then it really doesn't matter.

Exactly. Initally it bothered me because I wasn't sure whether RCA would keep him on, but they seem to be sticking by him, and I know he's recording at the moment because he's tweeted a few times about it, and that's all I want to know and be reassured by, that he's able to continue making music. I don't think coming on here (not the ATs, obviously, but the MF) helps very much sometimes as people are so quick to jump on any weakness or underperformance without taking into account the wider circumstances, but with Aiden, I feel very good about where he is at the moment, what he's achieved, and what he has the potential to achieve in the future.

If the date for Nothing At All on the Modest! Website is right, the video and single should have been sent to stations by now, and it hasn't. Unless they're waiting until after Christmas and going for a short three week run up to release.

That would make more sense, I'd have thought. Surely there's a lot of competition for airplay at the moment with all the seasonal music alongside the normal releases and the usual rugby scrum for Xmas number one.

Do we have any unofficial confirmation or indication that RCA are keeping Aiden on? The fact that he's recording music with The JLR must be a good sign, right?

Buzzjack still has it listed as a 14th Jan release, does seem very quiet though if that is the case

A mention for Aiden by Digital Spy this morning in the Most Underrated acts of 2012 http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/th...2-gallery.html

An odd inclusion in the Guardian (Q.24) http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/musi...bums-quiz-2012

Another site listing the release date of Nothing At All as 14th Jan http://www.emusicality.com/2012/12/n...es-122412.html

Best Surprise – Aiden Grimshaw – Misty Eye

When we first got a hold of Aiden Grimshaw’s debut album we had no idea what to expect. When it had come to its conclusion, we couldn’t believe it.

Grimshaw had taken the time off and grown so much as artist, he was barely recognisable from the singer we saw on The X Factor.

Nice to see new people enjoying the album. Do you have any song preferences?

It's taken for ever for the price to drop on Amazon, but Misty Eye is at the £5 mark at the minute. If you haven't got it, or want it for someone, it's a good time to grab a quality album.
