Just listening to the album now while doing my work.

I seriously didn't know what to expect for him as an artist, and it is a very solid debut. He sounds different from x factor.

Currently listening Poacher's Timing. But I will listen the album second time for favs. But this is up there.

Also really surprised that he got a rapper to feature. Liked how he brought two different styles and put it together.
Is this love will sound really good in a festival.

Poacher's Timing is also one of my favourites, along with Nothing At All. And I think What We Gonna Be is great. I hated it on first listen but after seeing Aiden perform it on tour with Smiler, it made a lot more sense to me and now I always listen to it with a smile on my face.

Are you enjoying the acoustic tracks? I think the acoustic version of the title track Misty Eye is hands down better than the studio version, and I'm not normally a massive fan of acoustic so that's saying something!

I really love acoustics and his voice really goes well with acoustics. Big fan of the acoustic of Misty Eye. Favs on the album are Chokehold , Is this Love, Misty Eye (Both). I Love love Curtain Call & Poacher's Timing and also What We Gonna Be because it's different.

Well I'm glad you've discovered the album, and I hope it continues to get better for you with each listen, as it has done with me!

Hope 2013 will be a good year for everyone. My spider sense tingles to suggest it shall surely be so for a certain gent in the thread title! And I send wishes for such for you all .

Welcome to the thread Postbox & Chem! Always lovely to hear others have discovered Misty Eye, as it is to read your thoughts on what you like about it and your favourite tracks. I love that lots of us seem to have different favourites .

Make sure you catch Aiden live whenever the next opportunity arises! If you enjoy the tracks on the album, wait until you experience them live .

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

According to Aiden's website, we haven't got long to wait until 'Year of Aiden' kicks off. It says that 'Nothing At All' is available for pre-order from 4th January http://www.myplaydirect.com/aiden-gr...m_campaign=nav

I'm very intrigued to know what's happening in terms of publicity

Oh neglected AT !!

I just wanted to come in here and announce Aiden is in the studio! How exciting is that!!!!!?!

I know we've known for a while, but happy times, eh!

Is there a possibility we could even get a "b-side" with Nothing at All? Wish there could be some sort of a physical single release with it, sigh. Who even buys singles these days unless you love an artist verily (or there's a physical copy!) I'd by a physical single on vinyl but I wouldn't just buy a download usually myself, other than for those exceptional... Anyway!!

Yay! Studio! I wonder how album 2 shall be? However, happiness! It's been some time since I could say oh to be a fly on the mixing desk....

This is what is currently showing in the Store on AidenGrimshaw.com for the Nothing At All single release, no B side, all remixes:

Nothing At All (Download bundle)

1 Nothing At All
2 Nothing At All (Manhattan Clique Remix)
3 Nothing At All (Kutz Remix)
4 Nothing At All (Noisses Remix - Radio Edit

It says 'instant download' but that's not the case at the moment. Scrambling has submitted a question asking if it should be working now or if it's pre-order, very confusing

Some happy tweets from the last couple of days:

Noel Phillips‏@Noel_Phillips
@Mr_Grimshaw Hear me now...We need another album here in 2013. Yes?

Aiden Grimshaw‏@Mr_Grimshaw
@Noel_Phillips I hear that!! Fo'sho

Draper‏@drapermusic
Smashing day making some beats with @Mr_Grimshaw

Looking forward to Album No.2 !

A mention in the Popjustice Readers' Poll "Didn’t Have It, Found It In 2012" category.

Modest! website has been updated - "His next single is due for release in 2013"

Not really news, but thought I'd give the thread a little bump.
Aiden has reached half a million followers on twitter
Even if some accounts are inactive and some are multiple accounts, it's good to see that Aiden has a lot of support!
Roll on Album 2!!

Ah Custard Creams, you have inspired me to dig out and dust off my geek hat.

For a "big" verified account, he's not doing too badly - 7% spam accounts, 43% inactive, Good 50%. The spam accounts are low, which is good.

For perspective, here's some figures on others.

One Direction - Followers @ 9.2M, Fake 20%, Inactive 41%, Good 39%
Matt Cardle - Followers @ 880K. Fake 8%, Inactive 48%, Good 44%
James Arthur - Followers 1.5M, Fake 9%, Inactive 39%, Good 57% (less of James's will be inactive as less time has gone by since he started his account)
Little Mix- Followers - Followers 2.1M, Fake 11%, Inactive 40%, Good 49%
Harry Styles - Fake 22%, Inactive 32%, Good 46%

And for ridiculous levels of puffery
Lady Gaga Followers 33M, Fake 34%, Inactive 38%, Good 28%
Justin Bieber, Followers 33M, Fake 25%, Inactive 35%, Good 40%

Standard Fake should be between 1-10%, as that includes spam accounts. Anything higher than that could be purchased followers (allegedly).

Inactive aren't spam accounts, they're ones that haven't tweeted in @ 30 days.

Ahhhh, letting my twitter geek fly free. Haven't done that in a loooooooong time.

There's a Nothing At All remix on Soundcloud. It's really really good! This one's not listed as being included on the single, assuming that is actually going to be released at some point.

If it isn't, it seems no-one told the Guardian - Nick Levine (also on this website a lot) reviewed it as a single yesterday - favourably.

Well that's a bit strange, isn't it? I don't want to be negative about anything to do with Aiden because I believe in him so much as an artist, but Misty Eye is a fantastic album that still hasn't been heard by a lot of people. Instead of moving onto new music (which of course I'm excited about!) just yet, they should still be trying to push one last single, especially one as strong as Nothing At All. The only thing I can think is they weren't confident it would get radio play? Maybe Radio 1 wouldn't playlist this one so they decided to pull it last minute?

Am I the only mug who bought Nothing at All twice (the first time I got an e-mail saying I'd bought it but not another one to say I could download..)

Nothing at All... in this case it truly is nothing at all eh!!!!

I hope it'll be a single because while I love that everyone loves different tracks on the album, more people seem to have Nothing at All as a favourite track than any other track??

If not though, obviously exciting music is presently being made, so I guess... get it out there on a CD before CD's in their entirety become nothing at all themselves !!!

I'm happy as 'tis evident there are happy music times a-coming some time .

Haha, no you're not the only mug who bought it twice, so did I and there's at least one other person that did as well

I hope it is released but I have to say it doesn't look likely at the moment. Having said that though, despite people emailing and tweeting the company taking all our money, it is still possible to purchase literally 'Nothing At All' for £1.99 on Aiden's website

Aiden seems to be working with this guy > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimitri_Tikovoi

I like pretty much every song that I've heard from the discography so that bodes well!
