With regards to nothing at all it does seem strange that they would suddenly not be releasing it as a single. Surely it's better to keep plugging the album that's already out before releasing new music? the ones that haven't bought the first are less likely to be interested in a second but with NAA being a more chart friendly track it could be the push needed to sell more copies of misty eye. Then once people are interested they will come back looking for more in the form of his second album.

Don't get me wrong I can't wait for more music but unless rushed it will probs be a year off, so what happens in the interim?

He seems to have been in the recording studio since around October / November, so album No2 may not be too far away, he did say that Misty Eye was completed in around 3mths. I don't have an issue with waiting though, I'm still loving Misty Eye and I'd rather he took his time and got it right.

In the meantime, I've seen loads of people tweeting that Aiden's doing a gig at Keele University for the students next Friday.

Not sure how I feel about the prospect of another album just yet. Like Hannah, I'm wary that the first album hasn't been plugged enough. Nothing At All seemed like such an obvious top 10 track to me, which really would do Aiden the world of good as an artist.

I think the only thing I'd like to be released in the next few months, if not another single from Misty Eye, is a very high quality EP - just four or five songs - at a low price on iTunes. Maybe include one acoustic track from Misty Eye and the rest new songs. I still feel with Aiden like I'm waiting for something to ignite, not in terms of the quality of his material which is already excellent, but in terms of capturing the public's interest. Radio play would obviously help with that but all he needs is one absolutely killer, breakout song to hook new people in. I thought he had that with Nothing At All but maybe the label didn't have faith in it?

Still, the prospect of new music is very exciting even if I still listen to Misty Eye all the time. I guess it's just a case of wait and see at this point! Also good to hear he's doing a gig, let's hope there's a few more in the pipeline.

In hindsight, Nothing At All would've made a wonderful opening single, or at least a follow up - it seems like such an obvious radio track, that people would enjoy. But I can see why it hasn't been released now - people sadly wouldn't hear it much on the radios, which is a shame. I'm not too sure on the whole thing - has it actually been released as a single, or is it just not being plugged? I would imagine its not, because surely you would give it a little buzz (even if the buzz runs out after an album release).

In terms of another album, well...I would love more Aiden music, of course! But Misty Eye for me doesn't feel completed - it has so much more potential. I don't expect much copies to be sold, but I like the idea of a good quality EP - add accoustic tracks from Misty Eye (I would love to hear Nothing At All and Hold On in this style) and add like a song or two that are brand new that give a taste of what's to come from the next album.

Sorry that I've gone on a bit - I've been thinking about this a lot since Sunday with the whole single confusion. But instead of jumping straight onto the second album, Misty Eye needs a 'curtain call' (sorry it had to be done! ) I think a good quality EP is a good way to go, plus it boosts his profile for Album number 2

I'm a bit disappointed with the half-arsedness around Nothing At All. I know it won't be Aiden's doing but it is his team's fault if a link on his website is taking money and not delivering a product. Not good enough.

Excited for his new music though, obviously.

Folksy new music? Intrigued! I wonder if a la Chokehold or different..!!?! Weird (not really weird, yet I used the word), because while I didn't know what to expect for album one, probably initially, long long before actual album happened I might've imagined a bit folksy. Now it seems hard to imagine not-Misty-Eye eh! I am properly excited for new songs in whatever variety. Exciting if they'll be different. I could say lots for it's exciting inside to have a little snippet to imagine possibilities from in directions like supernovae... but I won't. Just thought I'd bring the folk word here.

Not so convinced about him going down the folk route. I didn't like Chokehold as much as the other stuff on the album so if it's more in that direction it's going to have to work a bit harder to win me over. But obviously I'm going to reserve judgement until I've heard it!

I like that Aiden is doing more to share things with us at the moment, I think I'd have gone into panic mode by now with Nothing At All being pulled if he'd gone into ultra-secretive mode like before. It's incredibly exciting to know he's working on new music.

It was kind of comforting to see Aiden's name included in the Press Releases about RCA signing Union J this week. Including him in the list of people signed by them tells me that everything's good and we don't have anything to worry about.

Nothing At All may have been dropped due to Aiden going forward with a different sound but I guess it's another one of those AG mysteries we'll never know the answer to.

Quite like the idea of folksy type music. But at the same time, I hope he doesn't go down the Mumford and Sons route too much - I thought Chokehold was a bit Mumford and Sons - which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It would just be good though if Aiden had a unique take on folksy music

Folk excites me and it's kind of where I thought he'd go before we realised he was going down the electro-indieish route he took ( I'm not very good at genre defining am I?)

I remember Ellie Goulding trying to describe her first album & I think a press release said folktronica. If it had a bit of that (rather than Mumfords' chewing a bit of straw, wearing a waistcoat and playing a banjo kind of thing) I'd be most happy.

I have just seen the video for "Is this love" for the 1st time (he is unknown in my country I believe, though I actually don't know much about what's happening in the world of music tbh), and I loved it at first hearing -and that doesn't always happen with me! People seem to be raving about the album, so I have ordered it... I hope that I'll enjoy it when it gets delivered as much as this single cause it's really great!

Hi Annushka! Where are you from, if you don't mind me asking? Good to see new people posting on here. Is This Love is indeed an amazing song and I think it's safe to say it is one of those songs that a lot of people fell in love with as soon as they heard it. And the album is absolutely fantastic so you're in for a treat. I assume you're getting the standard edition if you've ordered the CD but it's well worth seeking out the acoustic songs that were on the deluxe edition in order to get a slightly different 'vibe'. Anyway, enjoy the album! (I'm always slightly envious of people who get to hear it for the first time. It's such a great feeling!)

I'm from France, and amazon.fr sells an imported edition of the CD (the UK regular CD I guess). That's why I asssume he isn't a big thing here. But since I don't watch TV, nor do I listen to the radio, I don't know if Aiden gets played here. I find stuff I like by chance, on the Internet.

Tbh, I heard about Aiden because of his association to the X factor (and 1D). So it's not a bad thing for the other contestants IMHO that 1D have made it big.
I heard about 1D some time ago by chance, and recently decided to check them out because they seemed to have become such a big deal. I happen to really like them (I know, a crime in here), and have watched the 2010 X factor edition online because of that... which is why I have given some of the other contestants a listen too. Aiden had been a hit and miss during the X factor for me, but his single is a huge HIT as far as I am concerned. The other contestants (apart from 1D) whose single I have listened to didn't have the same effect, more of a "nice" thing, but not good enough fro me to think "I need to get that CD right away".

To be fair, Aiden needs to focus on cracking the UK before he can move on to promoting himself internationally. I wouldn't call him a big thing here either, which is at once a curse and a blessing. But I'm glad you managed to find out about him, even if 1D played a part in that. I'm sure you're not the only one who likes both Aiden and 1D.

You'll have to let us know what you think of the album once you've had a chance to listen to it.

I have received the CD today and gave it one listen: it's a mix of genre,kind of alternative music and electro-dance at the same time... Not sure that's how he would define it, but that was my impression. I really like the general vibe!

The songs that struck me were:
Is this love
what we gonna be
this island
Nothing at all
Curtain call.

But the more ballady (no sure you can really call them that...) songs feel quite haunting (breathe me, be myself...).

I think you've just named most of the album, which is fine by me. I know it's a cliché but this is an album that does genuinely get better with each listen. There are tons of layers to it. Some killer lyrics, endlessly catchy beats and production that isn't overpowering. I just really wish Nothing At All was given the chance to shine as a single. It's such a great quality song.
