Is This Love out a week today, eek! Can't believe how quickly that's come round

And the album release has been pushed back a week till the 20th August. No idea why but excellent news since most of us seem to be away on the 13th

Yep, appears to be official

First off, Aiden said the 20th on the Radio interview and it was then confirmed by @LozLong to @AGTrendSite, I think she's one of the main people involved in his PR.

AG Trend Site‏@AGTrendSite
@Mr_Grimshaw @bjevz @LozLong Is 'Misty Eye' out on 13th or 20th August?

Lorraine Long‏@LozLong
@AGTrendSite August 20th now x

Have to say I'm very happy as I'm away on the 13th (very selfish I know ), but I think quite a few people are away that week from tweets and posts on here that I've seen, so I don't think I'm the only one who'll be happy about this

I agree! It being pushed back means I can get the glorious feeling of buying the album myself instead of someone else doing it for me!

Second part of the interview. It's sweet the way he talks about us supporting him.

I'm glad the date has been pushed back as i'll be on holiday on the 13th and I really want to go to the shop and buy it for myself on the day it's released

I hope being compared to Nicola Roberts isn't a bad omen...

Now that we're so close to the single release date, I've been thinking about where Is This Love might realistically place. It's difficult, because I feel like I've been exposed to it a lot, but I'm obviously looking out for it in a way that the average record-buying public aren't. I personally don't feel it's going to make number one, as competition for that week is so strong (also I've been hearing that Rihanna/Coldplay song everywhere, more's the pity) but I think it's a got an excellent chance of going top 5, which in my opinion would be the least it needed to make people sit up and notice. And I think once that happens, it may well be a climber. It would also REALLY help if R1 A-Listed it this week.

Has anyone got any other thoughts? I don't pretend to be an expert on the way the charts work, so I'm coming at this from a purely speculative POV.

From the start of all this I wasnt expecting chart glory but all the recent hype seems to be proving me wrong, I think it would be better for him not to chart amazingly the first time but still have some solid sales under his belt. This gives him a base to build on for the next single.

Going straight in at the top of the charts first time to me would be setting him up for a fall in future, expectations will be too high for his next release.

I agree that he needs solid sales but don't think hitting number 1 would be a bad thing. If that happens, it would help to prove his worth to people who quantify everything by chart position.

What I'm personally hoping for is that, regardless of where he places during the first week, the single will continue to sell well week on week. It seems that so many artists now release singles that do well initially before dropping very quickly out of the top 40, and I'd love to see some longevity from Is This Love.

Being no1 would be epic, but it means nothing these days, I mean look at the no1s we've had As long as it sales well and it makes people listen to him and highlights the album, thats all that matters!

I think Aiden will have done well if he gets a top ten, has he has not had any big support from any of the major radio stations apart from radio one and he has only had one tv performance so far. Both Matt and Rebecca had far more promotion than Aiden and their singles only made the top ten.

Fearne, Scott and Greg all played "Is This Love" today... That's basically A-List levels of airplay!

That's really good, when do Radio1 announce their Alist this week?

In terms of chart position I have no idea, I think top 5 would be incredible, but top 10 would be more than I had expected during the dark days of the long wait!! It is really hard in the 'Aiden bubble' to get a real perspective on how much exposure people in general are getting to it. I just want this single, and the other off of it to do well enough to make sure that Aiden can keep making music, and gigging.

I wonder if he'll be on This Morning or any other daytime TV shows when the single is released, or if this is heading for a completely 'cool kid' release (not a lot of mainstream promo)

I would love it if he did a bit of daytime telly, simply because there is nothing good on in the mornings and my mornings need something special
