I honestly, really cannot wait

We've got them so why not just enjoy them, we are having an Olympic week at school prior to them so hoping the children will get fired up about it too

I don't begrudge it being in London, it had to be somewhere and let's be fair it's accessible.

Can't wait for them to start tbh & to all those moaning about nothing else being on TV don't you have more than five channels ? all the sport will be replacing is the constant repeats of Bargain hunt and homes under the hammer no great loss there methinks

This is why this country is turning into a shithole because people can't be arsed to get behind things that used to matter once upon a time

All people care about is crap like eastenders or who will be the next cash cow for Simon Cowell

I couldn't agree more.
Or be more wrong ironically.

The reason this country is turning into a shithole is that at a time of crisis in the economy, when hospitals/armed forces/Police Services are being hammered, the country is spending in excess of £9 Billion for a two week jamboree designed to..................................do what exactly?

Allow a section of the population to remove their heads from their arses and stick them in the sand perhaps?

I'm counting down the days Mrs T!

I find the artistic and rhythmic gymnastics utterly mesmerising. Looking forward to the synchronised swimmers too

I'm not a sports fan and was originally dreading the Olympics but I'm actually getting excited now. Looking forward to the big opening ceremony when the Games begin.

The reason this country is turning into a dungheap is because there's always someone whingeing and moaning about something or other. Such negativity makes great a country not.

How'd you figure out that the UKs response to a crisis was to hold a jamboree?

The games just might make a profit, y'know...

This country hasn't qualified for the description "great" for about 70 years.

That's half the problem. Successive governments, still believe that the UK can play with the big boys when it comes to these things.

I support our athletes in that I won't watch it, read about it or partake in any way but I still hope they all win.

Me too Sid

Looking forward to all of it and will have a close eye on the swiimming as a young man I know is in the team

My son has tickets to see some of the events and also some friends

Despite problems we should be proud as a country that we have this event and if we can pull it off despite the worlds problems and it is the worlds, not just ours. then I reckon we can hold our heads up.

3 of which were in the USA and commercialised to buggery, 1 in Beijing, so not really reliable.

Hardly a glowing report.

I'm sure the people of Greece will take some comfort from these "joeyed" figures though.

Well I won't know anyway as I'm not going to watch it read about it or partake in any way. So if there IS any glory I'll probably miss it

the Olympics will be great.......

Shame they're happening here to be frank. For those of us who live and work in London it's going to be an absolute nightmare...

The only think I'm excited about is the Opening Ceremony and seeing what Boris Johnson gets up to, I reckon he'll misbehave.

From what I've been hearing on radio etc., it seems that the people who actually live and work in London are basically being told........"the Olympics take priority so TSB".

What a cockeyed way to run a country/city.

The Olympics will be fantastic, when compared to the celebrations for that old hag that along with her family, are nothing more than a bunch of parasites in the showbiz industry.

....yep. They might make a profit though.

Anyway, how'd you figure out your jamboree conclusion?

Nothing can get delivered because of the Zil lanes, You cant get home from from work because the already "full" transport system is swamped by people going and coming to the stadiums.

And as for the Airports.....

It's going to be hell hell hell....
