Rachel Leskovac was snipping hair in the background for 18 months, then they decided she was going.
They then gave her some meaty storylines to pave the way for her exit, with something to do (finally) she created a fantastic character in Natasha, ditzy, comedic but with a dark underside when crossed. And to cap it all off they then gave her the exit worthy of Gail or Deirdre (when they eventually leave!)
If they were so bored of the character - why build her up for no reason at all???
Bring her back, she was certainly more entertaining and watchable than the likes of Eva, Fiz, Stella and Tina (who started of well and they turn her into a whiny mardy cow!)

I never got this either! Just when the character started to become great to watch! Would love to see her make a comeback and put Eva in her place!!!

I'd like to see her back but how would they write her back in?

Easy - A rival Salon opens up in the old 7eventh heaven site - Run by Natasha - and 'just so happens' to be next door to the Bistro and a few doors down from Audrey. Cue "salon wars" and an affair with Nick.

I'm still hoping they'll bring her back, haha. She then goes a bit loopy again and offs Stella and Sean in a Rovers seige.

The thing is, she is a really good actress, equally good at drama and comedy. Cluesless Collinson got rid of her but keeps characters like Kirk and Sean!!!! The bloke has no idea.

They wasted Natasha, she could have been a great character.

I never liked her, I think PC did the right thing getting rid although I did enjoy watching her humiliate Nick infront of the Underworld staff

This is not, by FAR, the only time Corrie have done this. They bring in characters for no apparant reason with absolutely no plans for them, and then eventualy write them out again with their exit storyline being their one and only decent storyline.

When she first joined it looked like she was going to be a proper character but they ended up changing producers didn't they? maybe all plans for the character ended up having to go on hold.

By the way the local GP, whatever his name is, seems to be the next in the long line for this treatment. Although at least in this case I don't think he was ever intended to be more than a recurring guest character.

I think Dr. Matt is just that, he works at the medical center, and it makes sense to have a reccuring character there rather than a different doctor each time.

I thought they planned to make the doctor a proper character? that Tina thing went no where.

Speaking of characters who they introduce and do nothing with, I have a vague recollection of them bringing in a new barmaid a few years ago, who then just disappeared. Sorry I can't be more specific it's just a vague memory. Anybody remember her?

Poppy Morales?

She became assistant manager of the Rovers Return but later left suddenly, she kept telling Betty off because Betty was refusing to do as she was told. This was back in 2009.

I've never understood the love for Natasha. She was a pointless character, a vacuum, who admittedly did come into her own in her last few eps. But that alone was not enough to lift her from mediocrity.

Exactly - she dd nothing and then started to become great - we'll never know how good she could have been. Unless she comes back!

Axed performers usually rise to the occasion on their exit stories. I have no problems with the actress herself, but the character was pointless, had nowhere to go and, apart from the brief glimmer of interest in her last week, I suspect very few Corrie fans have even noticed she's gone or was even there in the first place.
