Hi,

I was going to go today in Basildon.

If it carries on with this downpour I probably won't!

Hope it fines up!

Cheers,
karen

I think you might be lucky with the weather.........the rain appears to be moving northwards and there's still a few hours before basildon !

It appears to have stopped raining now as there's no umbrellas up on the side of the road..........

We're in Rayleigh..........then it's on into Southend-on-Sea

Southend is a very interesting place........people think of it as a seaside resort and it does have the longest pleasure pier in the world at approx one and a third miles long............however it';s also a big town (pop 165,000), it's the 7th most densely populated area in the country outside of London, and 5 of it's wards are counted as amongst the 10% most deprived areas in the country.............

Now we've got a team of 9 runners

I wonder who got the contract to make all the white uniforms and how much the runners are paying for them...........

Somebody is making a bomb !...............

Welcome back, I thought you'd gone

We were meant to do a rehearsal for our Olympic Opening Ceremony today but the heavens stayed open, keep your finger crossed we have a nicer day Monday.

Cardboard torch is at the ready and our relay will be around the playground..........and no torch cam

Convoy time

Hi,

went and saw you in Basildon!

I waved for the camera - feeling daft like everyone else!

Saw 2 torchbearers - blonde woman ran it to the Sporting Village, and a bloke ran it from there into the town centre.

Cheers,
Karen

Loads of people in Chelmsford (BBC) have come out to see a flame.
Chelmsford must be pretty boring then.

Maybe they want to enjoy the atmosphere? Or see people who have accomplished so much in their life or for their community enjoy their moment of fame? Or enjoy the entertainment that is put on in the evening to celebrate the relay? People like different things
