I can't take my eyes off the penguin. Why on earth doesn't someone take her to one side and hiss "run like a human being, ffs"

It's awful! She's waddling along like she's crapped herself.

Nah, I'm sure Zeus is simply glad to have been of assistance, even if only to spark the ciggy of a man in a white van. It's not like he get's a fraction of the limelight he used to during his glory days.

Not for me, my illusions have been shattered with all these van shenanigans. I genuinely thought it was transported solely by runners.

Me too. Just said that to hubby and he said he thought that as well.

I find myself disappointed.

Me too. I mean I could just about understand taking the van on isolated or mundane stretches of road where nobody can see you carry the torch, but the magic vanished after witnessing that hairy tattooed arm that nonchalantly appeared out of the van window to expertly flick the tail end of a cigarette on to the road.

I have yet to see anyone who isn't being paid to be, being enthusiastic about this. The main crowds seem to be sheep who just like a party and getting caught up in excitement because of mob mentality. If you held up a stick to them they would probably fall to the ground in worship.

Along with the fact the eternal flame is being reignited with a lighter.

I'm convinced that the route was worked out by someone up in London with google maps, who'd never actually seen the landscape. The torch arrive in our town tomorrow, except that it doesn't actually go through the town, it skirts around it via a dual carriageway and takes a very odd route, indeed.

And if people want to go and see it being run around the country no issue to me. Hope they have a nice day out.
The torch relay idea was invented for the 1936 Berlin Olympics - the Hitler Olympics.

What does the chief Goon In Grey say to the torchbearers after he's fiddled with the gas taps on them? I notice he quite often points to his ear as he speaks. Have they put earpieces in each torchbearer over which to give them instructions ("waddle slower, dammit!") or does he say "this is my earpiece over which I communicate with the snipers who will shoot you if you do anything silly with the flame"?

Wonder how long it is until some of the torches appear on ebay

They've discarded Perry Mason in a hedge and got back in the van.

Yes they do and the bearers either get to keep it for free or a couple hundred quid depending who the sponsors are.

How many millions of these torches have been made?? It seems very wasteful. And how long until the first one appears on eBay?

I like the way the van was picking up some serious speed down that country lane, but suddenly braked and slowed down whilst passing what looked like a speed camera, and has gradually started picking up speed again. Quality
