In your opinion, which Beatles album was superior?

Well IMO of course my favourite Beatles album is Revolver

It is such an arty and different kinda album in vibe...cannot put my finger on it.

Depending on the day, hour, or mood I'm in, it's between Rubber Soul, The White Album or Abbey Road.
For years I'd have plumped for the White Album but I've wavered reccently.
Hell, everything from Rubber Soul on is pretty 'gear'.

I'd go for the White Album. The vast range of styles is amazing.

I think I'd have to say... The Best Of The Beatles

I would say Abbey Road, Revolver or Sgt Pepper. Followed by Rubber Soul, Magical Mystery Tour, The White Album and Let It Be. I quite like A Hard Day's Night and Help! too. Also now that I think of it Please Please Me, Beatles For Sale and With The Beatles are quite good too.

P.S Not forgetting the singles, e.p's and Yellow Submarine songs either.

It changes all the time At the moment I've started wavering towards the Revolver side but before that my faves were Rubber Soul and White Album.

Hard question, but I like The White Album's unpredictability.

Next Revolver.

It's between Revolver, The White Album and Abbey Road depending on how I feel. The White Album probably is the strongest but the weaker tracks and the fact that it sounds like a bit of a hotchpotch and doesn't flow as well as the other albums spoils it.

As I've got older I've tended to like the earlier more pop albums best.............so Help and Hard Days Night for me.

Rubber Soul has the best selection of songs-including many John Lennon classics. Sergeant Pepper is the most original, however, and is my own personal favourite. To be honest, with the exception of Let It Be, every album was brilliant.

Either Rubber Soul, The White Album or Sgt Pepper. Never understood the love for Revolver.

Let it Be is pretty solid.
Two of us is cracking
I've got a Feeling is a cracker.
I Me Mine, Get Back, Dig A Pony all crackers. It's a pretty solid album it just lacks some of the inventiveness of prior albums. And it had to follow Abbey Road.

It changes from week to week.

Currently it's "Hard Day's Night".

I agree but only the newer Let It Be Naked is the version I like. I hate all the Phil Spector overdubs.

BTW you do know that it was recorded before Abbey Road?

7. The White Album

Yeah.
I'm a saddo that when putting my Beatles albums in order puts Let it Be before Abbey Road.
If you put it in that order it actually makes Abbey Road an even better album, if that's possible.
It also gives Her Majesty the pride of place it deserves. Joking.
But if you treat Abbey Road as the last album the second side is the greatest goodbye anyone could ever hope for.

i too put Let It Be before Abbey Road in my collection
That last side of Abbey Road does indeed make for a great ending.

When they reprise You Never Give Me Your Money's horns in Carry That Weight, I'll be honest I well up.

The Naked version of Let it Be is pretty brilliant.
It adds Don't Let Me Down which is a smart move. And you don't miss the Spector overdubs at all.
