Hmmm and judging by what they are doing to her career, so should Alexandra Burke. I'd say ARSE-E-A is a more appropriate name for their label.

Aiden is ok. He's now R1's new best friend. I think Capital took the song off the playlist quickly. It was on it, and then it dropped on airplay really quickly. The cover was a mistake, not because it was a cover, but people are stupid. They automatically believe it's an album of covers...seriously, the public are generally the biggest issue with artists these days. IMO it should've been Mercy, SNA was pointless, I didn't like it, or the song at all. Also Mercy's official release is June 3rd and it is increasing on airplay.

Yes I do and thanks.

Thing is I was so disappointed with X Factor last year. When I saw the finalists I actually said out loud "You're kidding me!" as there was only Misha B and Janet I liked and I knew they wouldn't win.

When I saw the final three I was livid. These were acts that would have gone out in the first couple of weeks in any other year. I barely watched the Live Final - and when I saw the MENTORS singing with their acts I thought the show had reached absolute rock bottom.

So when Marcus got a recording deal I thought it was hysterical but by then I wished him well because I knew his chances in the industry were slim beyond all hope. I was surprised he was playlisted on Radio 1 and Radio 2 but only then became interested as I knew his future failure could not be blamed on promotion and wanted to see how it would play out.

He`s flopped simply because his songs are rubbish and he lacks personality and his career was rushed and not planned properly he`s pretty bland and dull if i`m honest too so no suprise for me same with Matt Cardle he`s boring aswell and lacks appeal and has little personality most xfactor constants flop in the end anyway nothing new Olly Murs has done the best so far

I know this is from the Daily Star, but his album sales have been incredibly low. Maybe rushing out an album was not the best idea.
I don't understand how the X Factor ones always seem to be dropped when it gets tough yet other artists who have one or two bad albums e.g the saturdays have albums not making the top 20.

the main issue I saw with marcus whenever he was featured on DS it was always a negative story.

Twitter homophobic remarks
a row with someone.

I watched him on Celeb juice and have to be honest I really didnt like the guy.He came over very uphimself and not very grounded and thats always a bad sign because people just switch off.
again I know he had problems trying to decide which look was best for him but that retro one just doesnt suit him.

Mercy is nowhere to be seen on the itunes 200
Does he have any tv appearances scheduled this week?

The EP isn't in the top 200 albums either

This is doing even worse than I thought it would.

I knew Mercy would be doing much worse than SNA despite people saying it's the best track from his album. Imaging this to be his debut single, he would've sold much less. He sold more because of "SNA", not because of "Marcus Collins". But I actually quite like Mercy though

Has Mercy had decent airplay? I know his first single was really supported by the big stations but I haven't been tracking this one. With such low album sales this is really bad for him.

Just as planned. First Matt, then Alexandra, then Marcus. Rebecca Ferguson is next on my list. Watch out, gyurl. Crisp endorsements can't save you now.

500,000 album sales probably can though.

With no album return to the top 100 either (even with dire sales) I think it's safe to say Marcus won't be getting a third single.

I'd imagine Rebecca will be safe for another album or two (seeing as this one has been a success and is off to a good start in America) but whether or not she can avoid an 'Echo' situation is a different matter.

Echo sold more than Rebecca's current album though so I'm not really sure what you're trying, sis.

Rebecca's album is still selling, even without numerous X-Factor performances and and neither Radio 1 or Capital playing her records.

Plus Heaven was much more critically acclaimed than either of Leona's albums, but whatever, I don't know why you had to make it a competition between the two, I was only saying Rebecca needs to avoid a slump with the next era or else she'll be in the same predicament as Leona (and Alexandra).

Although there's a chance she'll probably "blow up" with her next era, ala Olly Murs (who is the only X-Factor act to actually grow in popularity with the second album).

Echo only underachieved because it sold considerably less than 7 million. Is the current estimated 2 million?

I didn't make it a competition, I was just meaning that if her follow up sold as much as Echo it wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.

But Olly's was helped along enormously through the exposure of presenting on the xtra factor. Without that I doubt his 2nd would have been more popular than his debut.

Not true. Joe's sold way more albums with Universal than he ever did with Syco (about 500,000 in the last 4 months of 2011 if you take Classic and Classic Christmas together compared to 100,000 for Wide Awake)

I knew Joe had sold more of his follow up albums. Do you have a link to those sales figures you have quoted please?

http://joemcelderry.ning.com/page/about

There's something on Music Week too but I can't link to it as it's subscriber only content and I can't remember my ****** password

From memory, it was when Classic Christmas was released and it refers to Wide Awake and Classic Christmas going gold (one after a year, one after 2 days LOL) and Classic going double gold - all in the same week
