It appears that a lot of people have differing ideas as to what they want the GA comeback single to sound like. Which of their songs from their back catalogue would you like the single to be in a similar vein to?

Personally, I would like something along the lines of Something Kinda Ooooh. With hints of Close To Love and Swinging London Town and the beauty of Untouchable, but still bring something new and fresh. Lol, not much to ask.

I basically hope that they don't go for the electro-ballad (Call The Shots) or sixties-vibe (The Promise) sections of their back catalogue.

The sound of Girls Aloud! I think they kinda have there own sound so something on the lines of Out Of Control with a bit of the debut single and Something Kinda Oooh mixed in.

I thought the sound of 'The Promise' was fantastic, but I'd prefer something electric like 'Sound of the Underground', which in my opinion has not been topped in its brand by Girls Aloud since.

I don't think they'll go for the 60s sound again. I think they only went with that because it was big at the time (Amy, Duffy etc). I think it'll be more dance-pop but who knows

I just hope the GA reunion doesn't become The Cheryl Cole show though

Something that is pure British pop. They are working with Xenomania again so I expect nothing short of very good tbh.

To be honest I much prefer songs like Call the Shots, The Loving Kind and Untouchable to most of their earlier stuff, so I'd like to hear something like that :P

It shouldn't be a sad-sounding electro song like Call The Shots or Untouchable - that won't set the charts alight in the current musical climate, the Scissor Sisters' new single Only The Horses is testament to that. Rock isn't particularly popular at the moment either so something incorporating indie-ish elements a la Sound of the Underground wouldn't be wise either. A song in the vein of Something Kinda Ooooh would be the best option I think, or even the retro-bombast of The Promise. But as the song is rumoured to be the official Children In Need single this year, I fear it may be a ballad...

Whilst Call The Shots is one of their best singles ever, it needs to be a true return to GA roots along the lines of Something Kinda Ooooh, Sound of the Underground and Sexy No No No.

Oh, don't get me wrong - both of those tracks are probably in my top three, but electro-dance is where they need to be for the first single back. They can do whatever they like for the second single, .

I didn't know they're going to work with Xenomania again! That's brilliant news. To me what lifted Girls Aloud above any other girl group and made them special is the songs. Brilliant songwriting. I look forward to their return.

Oh, and by the way, my previous comment was 1000th post. I'm glad it could be spent on Girls Aloud.

Was Cheryl there for Aloud stuff? Xenomania confirmed Nadine, Nicola, Kimberley and Sarah have all been working on Aloud stuff in the last few weeks, but no confirmation about Cheryl.

Well Cheryl and Nicola were in the studio together so I guess that's Girls Aloud related.

Also, I think Xenomania let the cat out of the bag with those tweets as they have since been deleted.

Where did you find out they were in the studio together?

If it is those pictures of them leaving somewhere, Cheryl was actually taking part in Nicola's new tv show (the one Rihanna is producing) and that was them leaving the recording of it.

It must have been for the Rihanna thing then. I saw those pictures and it just said they were leaving the studio so I assumed it was the recording studio.

Speaking of Girls Aloud, four of them were reunited tonight at Kimberley's final day at Shrek. (no Nadine obviously but she did send a tweet)
