So I was watching an interview that Nadine did right around the time that Insatiable came out and she says that she turned down a chance to be on Dancing with the Stars (America's version of Strictly Come Dancing). I honestly think that this was a worse career decision then the whole tesco thing. I'm American, have watched Dancing with the Stars for many years and have seen what a big impact it can have on somebody's career. There have been many, many people who have been virtually unknown in the US, have gone on the show, won over the public, and have gotten many amazing career opportunities as a result. Turning down DWTS was a horrible decision! And even though Nadine definitely wasn't the strongest dancer in Girls Aloud , she got much better over the years and many of the Tangled Up/OOC tour routines were very impressive.

Here's the interview. Go to 4:30

Bit silly of her. What was the point in her releasing a single in the U.S with no media attention etc. Having said that i always wanted Nadine for BGT not Alesha. I cant help but feel shes overlooked with that voice.

Yeah, I honestly don't think her album would have appealed to American audiences/been a big hit here. But still, people would have at least heard of her and maybe checked out her music to see if they liked it.

She should have done it, they get so many viewers out there and it's made Katherine Jenkins a household name in America.

Nadine has turned down many opportunities and it has held her back. She is a nice girl but not talented enough to sell off the back of her voice. She doesn't play the game and if she's happy doing her own thing then fair play to her but if she has any aspirations of chart success then she needs to eat a massive humble pie and start putting herself out there. The media and fans won't come knocking at her door, she needs to make herself available. I like Nadine but it's frustrating watching her sabatoge her own career.

She should have definitely done it, she has made some bad decisions but if she is happy with them well what can we say.

Nadine has made some very bad career decisions. Refusing to take part in Passions of Girls Aloud has to be the biggest.
It was on that show Cheryl met Will.i.am and featured on his song and he produced her two albums. Nicola created the foundations of her make up range which is very successful and Kimberley got experience in musical theatre and just finished her near year long tenure in Shrek The Musical.

She doesn't surround herself with the correct people and her management are awful. She should have stuck with Girls Aloud management team.

Another thing, did anyone else think it was kind of weird how in the interview she said she didn't want to do it cause she didn't enjoy dancing at all? I don't know about you guys, but I loved the Tangled up/OOC tours because the dance routines were amazing. Not only was the choreography good, but I always thought the girls looked like they genuinely were having fun with the dancing. Nadine's statement about the dancing was a little shocking, and to me it seemed like she was saying she hated a big part of what GA is famous for.

And yes, I had never heard of Katherine Jenkins before dancing with the stars. I actually looked her up the other day because I was curious as to what she was famous for. So DWTS exposure really does work wonders. It's the most watched show in the states!

I find it very strange that anyone would be concerned about the future music career of something they didn't consider talented enough to merit a music career!

I agree about the lack of talent in many of these current manufactured groups but the sooner they disappear, the better, in my view. It's an injustice and an sad indictment on the public that they make small fortunes from a career in which they have little ability; one where many much more capable artists struggle.

Nadine isn't a very strong dancer (neither is Sarah) and they both admit to that so I can see why she would say she didn't enjoy it.

I know she's not strong, but she and Sarah have definitely improved a lot. Obviously the other girls were better, but Sarah and Nadine got to the point where they were able to keep up and not look like they were out of place.

What an idiot. That Katherine Jenkins has become an overnight sensation now - people are going to flock to see her live in concert.
