I do sort-of like the Bee Gees, but I also seem to be part of the 1% of people who are occasionally put off by their diction, sometimes I just can't understand what they're singing.

You Win Again is a good song though, and I like some of their other songs too - Stayin' Alive, Night Fever, Alone, More Than A Woman, Secret Love and some others. I never said I was anything more than a casual fan.

Absolutely everything from the minute I first heard them back in 1968 - they were/are musical geniuses.

But especially :

To Love Sombody.
I've Gotta Get A message To You.
Morning Of My Life.
World.
Kilburn Towers.
Night Fever.
This Is Where I Came In.

Fantastic family, fantastic composing, music and singing and fantastic legacy.

R.I.P. Robin, Maurice and Andy.

The Bee Gees really were brilliant songwriters so rather than mention the usual suspects I'd recommend:

Lonely Days (1970) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpIcjNa1cqQ&ob=av2n
Mr Natural (1974) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Wufvuw9WQ0
He's A Liar (1981) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNEqKdj6kkE
Juliet (1983) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnCFjc0g4Wc
The Only Love (1991) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0OUOnSdxv0
Sacred Trust (2001) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8Mbih1pVVQ

weird to see so many shouts for You Win Again.

It's something of a guilty pleasure as far as I'm concerned. I say 'guilty pleasure' because there's something a bit naff about it and I can't quite pin down what that is, maybe it's the 80's production, maybe it's the fact that it was played to death at all those wretched family weddings I was dragged along to as a kid, there's just something a bit Cannon and Ball about it - if that makes any sense.

But it's a fine tune, just not one I'm openly in favour of.

It's hard to pick a favourite because they are all brilliant, although I do think How Can You Mend a Broken Heart just had the edge. Sung by Al Green this was fantastic! RIP Robin.

Not over keen on their disco stuff. I do love their earlier stuff though. Massachusetts (sp?), Got to Get a Message to You and I Started a Joke are my particular favourites.

If we are talking songs written by the Bee Gees how about the brilliant 'Shadow Dancing' - Robin was a co-writer on that. The song that kept 'Baker Street' out of number one in the States and the obvious Bee Gee song for George Michael to have covered.

Its in my Bee Gees top three with 'Night Fever' and 'Spirits'.
