SyFy "Sanctuary" cancelled

Terrible show but it had its fans and survived for 4 seasons. I wanted to like it but the cheap production values and poor writing forced me to abandon it after awhile.

I don't have to watch anything from SyFy now. I'm free.

I lost interest near the beginning of the final season and stopped watching, so can't say I'll miss it.

It's a shame for the people that still enjoyed it though.

Shame, it was fun when it was good but when it was bad it was pretty dire. I've stuck with it this long, but I'm struggling to catch up with the season that's on now. Might not bother.

The first two seasons were the best, but ran out of ideas after that. I still watch it though

Not sure all that CGI was particularly "cheap"

I`d have thought since season 5 was gonna be the final series. it would have got renewed so it could be wrapped up properly like fringe.

Be fair though, with 4 seasons it had a good run for its money. That's more than a lot of shows get these days.

I like Sanctuary, its not ground breaking TV but always had good storylines and a very likeable cast.

Proving in a way you dont need massive budgets to do a decent TV show.

I hope Amanda Tapping stays on our screens though, she is doing the US version of Primevil I think.

I watched a couple of episodes when it started but didn't follow it through, then I was aware that it still existed because I would see adverts for it or see it on the EPG.

But when I read of it's cancellation I was amazed to find out that it lasted for 4 series! Not only did it make me thing "Where does the time go?" but it added to my lack of understanding about how some great shows are cancelled whilst mediocre ones seem to run and run.

These days four series seems a damned good result, I'm sure the likes of Firefly and Pushing Daises (and there are many more examples) would have loved four series.

Pushing Daisies should think itself lucky it got two seasons. If ever a show deserved to get cancelled even before it's first season had finished then PD was one.

Of course I respect your right to hold such an opinion, and everyone's opinion is equally valid, but you're wrong

I found the last season, whilst not appalling - not particularly good either

Their cancellation really comes as no surprise, to me anyway!

A friend of mine insisted that I watch one particular episode - long after I gave up on the show - because he was convinced that the writers and producers were high when they made it.

It was the one where one of the show's main characters went to India and suddenly did a whole Bollywood dance routine on the street.. I thought everyone on the show, behind-the-scenes & on camera, lost their minds.

Here's a brief clip of it: LINK

Oddly enough, I thought that was one of the shows better moments

It did start to get pretty dire. I record and only half watch, in fact thought about just giving up.

It just looked cheap then ;-)

I agree with the other poster, Pushing Daisies deserved another season. Wasn't they going to make a comic of what would have been season three?

I watched a handful of episodes, nice filler for an hour but not compelling.

Didn't it used to be the lead into BSG in America? Probably why it did reasonably well for a while.
