As it says, share those albums by your favourite artists or bands that you think are underrated. Here are a few of mine -

ACDC - Everyone goes on about Back In Black and Highway to Hell (which are great albums) but I think Flick of the Switch and Let There be Rock don't get enough praise.

Whitesnake - Again, we all know about 1987 but I feel they don't get enough credit for some of their earlier stuff like Trouble and Ready an' Willing.

Deep Purple - Obviously, In Rock and Machine Head get a lot of praise but I have to say that 2 of my favourite Deep Purple albums are from the Coverdale/Hughes era and they are Stormbringer and Come Taste the Band.

Kate Bush- The Sensual World often ignored and overlooked in favour of her more experimental works like Hounds Of Love etc its a great loosely concepted album about love and sensuality that flows from start to finsh.

Bjork- Vespertine again ignored in favour of her earlier more dance orientated records a subtle beauty steeped in chimes and whispers.

Amy Winehouse- Frank not as good as BTb but has divers range of sounds and is a nice jazz hip-hop R&b fusion

The Smiths- Strangeways Here We Come a great mess of sounds an interestinf tracks and just as good as TQID and far better than their first two

Commercially underrated would be Britney's Blackout.

Girlicious - Rebuilt & Girlicious

Could have been huge in UK. Especially Maniac from Rebuilt.

This is gonna be painful for some people but...

Up all night - One Direction

They're success might be down to their looks, x factor platform and a debut single that hit the hearts of their fanbase; but the actual album is probably one of the best I've heard in recent years. Not one bad track on it and the bonus tracks are incredible.

Katy Perry - One of the boys

Not as great as teenage dream but actually a really nice collection of tunes.

Leona Lewis - Echo

It was void of single choices but as a musical piece, it works well as it slowly progresses.

Snow Patrol - Fallen Empires
(Still an amazing band capable of delivering anthems such as 'chasing cars' and 'run', yet this album seems to have been swept under the carpet)

Taylor Swift - Speak Now
Comerically wasn't as great as her previous albums...yet to my taste it is her strongest offering to date.

I think DP's Fireball is very underrated. Because of the speed with which they were releasing albums, it got a bit lost.

Oooh I forgot about that one, which I guess proves what you said. That is a very underrated album.

Blink 182 - "Blink 182" (Self Titled)

Personally love this album, but everybody else will always talk about "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket" or "Enema of the State"

Agreed. Plus 'Tupelo Honey and 'His Street Band and Choir' were imo hugely underrated due to them immediately following 2 of arguably the greatest albums of all time, 'Astral Weeks' and 'Moondance'.

Tears for Fears - 'Raoul and the Kings of Spain'. Ignored (by me) largely because of its stupid title. I recently discovered it and realised it is probably the best TFF album! 'Side 1' is as strong a side 1 of any album I've heard in a long time...

ONe of my faves from Kate such a beautiful record - especially the title track, Love & Anger and of course This Womans Work - which despite being a small hit in 1989 is well known.

Vespertine is on a rotating top 3 with Debut and Homogenic....these 3 records are her opus....despite the odd track from the 3 albums since Vespertine I've lost my way with Bjork, fair play she likes experimenting - but you need to make listening to it a pleasurable experience.

I would say

Tori Amos - Abnormally Attracted To Sin. Most of Tori's work post Scarlet's Walk has been criticized for their similar "safe" production and being too long.- I would agree when it comes to The Beekeeper and to a lesser extent American Doll Posse (the 5 characters were a bit yawnsome). But AATS is more akin to earlier works - Strong Black Vine and Police Me have Choirgirls rawness, Ophelia, Flavor and Starling are lifted from Under The Pink....Lady In Blue is almost Yes Anastasia pt2

Janet Jackson - Damita Jo - Got buried after nipplegate, this is much stronger than All For You. Sexhibition, Strawberry Bounce and All Nite (Don't Stop) channel early Prince, Like You Don't Love Me sounds like TLC and a great batch of sexy slowjams too. One of her best for me

Oasis - Be Here Now
It's a big bloated follow-up to a far superior first album.

It certainly has it's moments, but it's unloved for a good reason imo

Second album syndrome
