Um wow! Where did this spring from? Looks right up my street too, reminds me of Guardian Heroes and the CPS2/Sega Saturn D&D games.

Trailer here

Jeremy McGrath Offroad

I downloaded this game yesterday and it's not bad. I'm working my way through the amateur races at the mo (went str8 to the hardest setting when I first tried it and got left for dead as the first car you get struggles to get off the starting line) lol.

worth a try if your into dirt/buggy racing

It does beg the question of why games like this weren't shown at E3? This is a Microsoft studios game as well so it would have been perfect for the Microsoft stage show.

Just done a little reading up on DFL and seems there will be hundreds of items that you can trade with other players online with rumors of some rare items available later that can be bought for MSP.

It does sound really good. Like an RPG beat em up that supports 4 players online. I'll definitely be trying it out.

Yeah it's looking good.

Spelunky out this Wednesday! Trailer

This game been some time coming but it's finally here, quite expensive at 1200 MSP, but the word is from the guys at XBLAFans who have an early copy is that it's a superb game. If you're into 2D platforming then certainly one to check out.

Eurogamer gave Spelunky a 10/10. Yep, it's that good!

Here's a video offering a brief overview of the game and what to expect, click

I take it back, Spelunky isn't quite hard it's proper nails. It's one of those games you cannot really understand the appeal until you've played (and died) a fair bit. Make no mistake it's as hardcore as they come. There's no saves, after 4 levels another area is opened up offering new challenges, items and requiring a different approach. But once you die it's all the way back to the beggining, it doesn't even save once you've cleared 4 levels and made it to the next section.

You can however pay to have someone dig a shortcut for you but the requirements vary and I've only once made it to the forest section and then died straight away, I didn't have the item he wanted to trade to dig the tunnel so all the way back to the begiining it was. It's a very addictive game and the controls are really tight, you can only really blame yourself for any errors. This game is not for everyone though. I gotta say the music is superb too.

Did anyone try out the Bellator MMA game? it's a bit arcadey compared to the UFC Undisputed series but that's not a bad thing and gameplay wise it's really good I thought. I had a lot of fun with it.

Sounds like the Impossible Game. Hard and very addictive. The only redeeming feature is that I like the music!!

Good news for Joe Danger fans.

Joe Danger:The Movie is coming to Xbox Live next month on August the 29th.

They've added multiplayer, a bunch of new editing tools and new vehicles such as pogo sticks and unicycles.

Another game worth a look for me could be Pool Nation

http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Pr...5-d8025841127a

Not much to go on,but the screens look good. I do enjoy a game of pool and it has online play.

Rumored to be out on the 5th of September.

I know this is going off topic but that's quite a coincidence - I've been playing just that on the Genesis Plus GX emulator on the Wii! The latest version has Sega/Mega CD support and I've been playing XJ220, The Terminator, Batman Returns, etc.

That emulator is so good now it has MCD support. I've been playing some Sonic CD on it myself.

Picked up Dungeon Fighters Live today, watched the live stream at XBLAFans early this morning and liked what I saw but what it didn't convey was how good the game plays. No question about it, if you are to side scrolling beat 'em ups and like your MMO's then this game will really sink it's claws into you, I'm only a few hours in and already itching to get back to it.

So I've made it as far as The Temple. Yay for me. Unfortunately The Tunnel Man want's a key to make the shortcut. A key. An effin' KEY?! A key from the effin' MINES key?!? Like donating him a shotgun for the Ice Caves shortcut wasn't bad enough...
I have a serious love/hate relationship with this game...

I'm sorry, 'shmup but I can't agree with this. This game has a double-edged sword. I've had levels where the exit was more or less a straight drop and others that had me running an impossible gauntlet of threats. And as for the levels in the dark? 'Eff those! In particular if you're carrying a requested item!

There's a 'cheevo called Addicted - Play Adventure Mode 1000 times - I'm about to hit that. But the grind is killing me.

(There's also another 'cheevo called Speedlunky - Complete the game in under 8 minutes. No shortcuts. Yeah - that's my dream and my nightmare, folks. .)

^ Yeah there is a peculiar randomness to the game which means if you're lucky you get a good run and it's all smooth sailing, other times everything can go tits up very quickly. Though I do think the game is balanced, I noticed if you fly through the stages then the chances of getting a dark stage is higher. It is tough but I still think it's fair, I haven't personally been put in a situation which I couldn't get out of (even if I died).

Anyway, did anyone try The Wreckateer yet? I know it's a Kinect game but it's been getting some good reviews, the controls are said to be very good too. I'll be trying out the demo later today and I'll post my thoughts.

Also remember to check out the Summer of Arcade stages in Trials Evolution courtesy of Red Lynx, so far there's THPS and Wreckateer stages and both of them are excellent.

Here's an overview of this weeks releases from XBLAFans click

Here's the Deadlight Video Review courtesy of IGN. It was put up a while ago in error and pulled straight away but within that short window someone still managed to save it so you can watch it [here].

You've probably heard me say it before but I have no respect for IGN in general but it' still worth watching this as the game looks and sounds fantastic!

Yep, loving it also. You're the only other person on my friends list who bought it which makes me sad. It's the best XBLA title I've played in a good while.

It reminds me of Flashback with elements of Mirror's Edge and Elevator Action Returns thrown in. Definitely a game I'll be replaying more than once and I'm looking forward to tracking down the elusive LCD games (which you can allegedly play from the main menu) too.
