I don't think Victor should have been killed off either, but David Renwick didn't want to write anymore series, and got fed up with being asked if he was going to.
I like your idea of Victor and new technology. I remember an episode where he bought an answering machine and was struggling setting that up, so I can definately imagine some very funny moments of Victor getting frustrated with laptops and smartphones.

They are all fine actors.

I think Mrs Warboys meant well but she was very tactless and had a habit of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time.
After Victor Mr Swainey was my favourite character. I loved the way, most of the time, he talked in a cheery manner no matter what it was he was talking about.

If anyone is watching the episode on GOLD at the moment - Margaret has been particularly nasty in this one she has poured water over Victor's groin to try to revive it, she has had his caravan towed & and put white spirit down the toilet.

I don't have gold, but I remember the episode your talking about.
He wanted them to go on holiday in his "haunted" caravan, but ended up going on his own.
I think this one is very funny and it's in my top 10 favourite episodes.

Hmmmm like the toilet paper incident was? This was the episode that she was supposed to die in but they changed their minds the new neighbours didn't do it for me good job it didn't go on for much longer.

Yes that episode was supposed to be last ever. Hence the title, Endgame I suppose.
I thought the McVities were quite funny. I loved the scene where Victor's trying to get out of their bed.
There was only one more series after that Christmas special, and I think the humour got a bit too crude, especially in Tales of Terror and Threatening Weather, but I love The Executioner's Song and The Dawn of Man.

That's a good episode. Very funny with Victor and Cuthbert, and very sad with Jimmy Jewell's character.

Always felt for Victor but especially when his missing car was found in a Finnish wood as he was about to claim on the insurance,also when he kept getting called by the people entering the snooker shots competition.also Identified with when he was kept awake by the noisy party
