doesn't look too bad though. makes you wonder what they could come up with if they weren't so busy counterfeiting.

Made In China http://micdigi.com/ is really interesting.

Looks like one of the typical Android tablets being churned out – some of them are quite good – I’ve got an Ainol Elf 7” tablet that is pretty good…not as good as an iPad but about 3-4 times cheaper!

I expect that when the Chinese companies start to get serious about making and selling stuff they will come up with some good stuff – but the prices will rise as well.

I'd buy one at £54.27.

at that price for a larger-screen tablet I'd be tempted. might serve as a good "yes my life is better with a tablet" or "no, I never take it with me and it just gathers dust on the shelf" test before getting a full-blown one.

I'd check out that one in HMV for £100.

The on-line blurb says 1the same decent RK2918 but with a 10" 1280 X 800 capacitve screen with bluetooth etc. Only Android 2.3 but that might be an advantage still.

That is on the top end of what I'd expect to pay for that spec tablet, you can get better for less from China.

Also worth noting the RK2918 isn't as good as the Allwinner A10, which the Mali 400 GPU which beats the Rockchip GPU hands down.

Not quite an iPad knock-off, but how about an iPhone knock-off:
