If I wanted to watch crap like that I'd watch Coronation Street.
But you need that type of stuff in every show. It's not like soaps have invented that particular trope. All forms of writing and all genres have to have those type of moments between characters from time to time, otherwise the thing lacks believability.

These days Pam looks like Eric's mum.

Fairly sure the age gap between them has remained consistent both in real life and on the show. Pam was a former hooker turned brothel madam while Eric was turned when he was just about 30 by Godric. While Eric looks younger he is older in the show while Pam appears older while being younger. In real life there has always been an 11 year age gap since the show began.

Of course they do, but that's all the show has become. In Series 1 (a fantastic series) there was a good story and a little bit of relationship stuff (Sookie and Bill). Now though, it's all relationship nonsense and the story is only there to fill in between sex scenes. It has become tedious.

The actress who plays her is in her 40s, and so I always assumed that her character was supposed to be around the same age too when she was turned, as I don't think the show's conveyed any different.

This is silly. She was never suppose to be younger or his age. She was clearly always older. And now things are even better explained , she was already a madam in a brothel when she was turned, the actress fits glove with the whole Pam persona.

I liked the last episode. I just think there are too many storylines . I do not mind the the storylines per se, but we have what, 12 episodes? There won't be enough time left to focus on the really cool things, like Russel, Eric and Bill, Newman, the vampire authority. And Gosh i simply could live without the Fayries.

Totally agree. They've even sexed up the fairies. It seems that the writers/HBO see all women as sluts, sex-crazed or strippers and all men as evil, stupid or rednecks. It's become so pathetic to watch.

The books (which, I agree with others, became boring towards the end) at least had the various races as uniquely different, not just identical copies of each other, bonking one another like crazy.

It does look like we're finally getting Russell back properly if the trailer for this Sunday's episode is anything to go by.

No kidding. If they'd found some way to alter their ages in real time, that would be big news.

If you've read the books though you'll know that the fairies have always been "sexed up".

I just hope that Claude is better utilised in the series because sadly, Claudine was really wasted and she was brilliant in her books.

I don't think he is either and there will be another explanation not even mentioned so far

I think Sookie and Alcide will stop or be stopped before 'it' happens.

I like Jessica a lot more this series. I do think she shouldn't have glamoured Andy into not even remembering Debbie's name because that could be a clue later that he was glamoured. She should have stopped before that final suggestion.

Haven't got a clue what's happening with Sam and his two shifter friends - that was a shock to me.

I like Terry, but I couldn't care less about his storyline and wish the producers hadn't gone down that road.

I agree that Pam was an older woman when Eric turned her and think she's great. I like how her and Tara are together.

Unsure about all the fairy world stuff at the moment.

6 or 7 out of 10 for me this week.

I can't find any preview clips for Sunday's episodes. Hope HBO release them soon.

I've got a theory, its a bit "out there".
But with the fairies seemingly returning (they have been featured in a couple eps of the new series so far), it looks like they're building up to something.
It makes me wonder if the fairies freed Russell in an attempt to either lure Sookie back to the fairy world, or to get revenge on Eric for killing Claudine.

There are preview clips for Sunday's episode, one with Bill/Eric and another with Tara/Jessica.

No they weren't. They exude a scent that attracts vampires but they don't wander around in string bikinis and work in the sex industry (except for Claude). If I remember correctly (having read the books several years ago) the fairies live in a sort of mixed-up Ireland with a war going on between 2 of Sookie's ancestors. Sorry if this is a spoiler, but I doubt that it is, as the TV series bears no relation to the books whatsoever.

I agree that the books and the TV series are very different and I try hard not to compare them any more because the two are so far apart now, but there are always loose links.

Spoiler

The fairies in TB are 'sexed up', but then that's in keeping with the whole feeling of the TV series.

I think like last week, this week was a stepping stone to a big episode next week, when it looks like all hell breaks loose. I can't wait!

One of my favourites yet. So many wonderful moments.

I think I could watch a whole episode of Tara and Pam and Tara and Jessica together. Their scenes in this episode were absolutely electrifying to watch from start to finish.

Heck, even the Tara and Hoyt scene was a joy to watch. Hoyt is a mess right now but damn, he is looking seriously good for a mess too. Interesting that Tara fed off him, though Jessica clearly didn't like it one bit.

Nice to see the Russell at the end of this episode willing to take on Sookie and company at the end. Russell's return couldn't have come at a better time.

Nora needs to escape from the Authority and fast. I can only take so many scenes of her praying and getting the UV light treatment.

The Roman and Salome scenes are improving but Molly is far more charismatic than either of them to be honest.

Poor Sam and Luna but it's nice that the shifter plot is stepping up a gear. I hope Emma survives though with those lunatics now after her.

Jason's dream sequence was fab to watch as was Andy learning about fairies but why should I care for him and Holly?

Ruby Jean and Jesus's returns in this episode was nice. Nice that Lafatyette's story is also picking up a gear.

Of course the Terry/Patrick/Eller plot would take a supernatural turn. Fire demon looks kind of cool too, 9/10.

To be fair, the only sex scene I've seen so far this season was that of Eric and Nora and that was in episode 1, other than that, there's not been much if at all, so that point is null and void!

After all my criticisms of late I really enjoyed the latest episode. The story finally seems to be gathering pace.

One small point, I thought Tara had turned into a kick-boxing lesbian in the last series? Has vampirism turned her straight again?

The mind boggles, Emily Bishop and Rita Fairclough holding down Stan Ogden as Hilda prepares to hammer in the stake; "So sorry, chuck... would you like one of Betty's Hotpots before you take the true death?"

I always thought eating one of Betty's hotpots was the true death.

For those old enough, how about Albert Tatlock as the leader of the Weatherfield Wolves, or discovering that Ken Barlow was 'made' by Ena Sharples.
