Anyone a fan of the waltons love that show.watching the reruns on the True Entertainment channel. John and Olivia have to be my favourite couple on that show but i also like Zeb and Esther as well. both couples are really sweet together.

I've been rewatching it for the umpteenth time too. I remember when it was originally shown in the UK, I can't believe it stills tugs at the heart. They actually tackle some controversial issues at times, it's not all rocking chairs and the Recipe

Made a john and olivia fanpage feel free to join on facebook.

I was thinking as people in the uk can't get all waltons dvd's in the region 2 format only region one. And as not everyone has a multi regional dvd player. If we all emailed i tunes to request the waltons seasons 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and the movies then maybe they will put it on as they will have so may requests for the show then the people that can't get access to all seasons will be able to then via itunes.

God. I used to watch the Waltons. Now, I can look back at this as a cynical manipulation of my emotions. THEN I loved it. I was a "John Boy" fan.I so wanted him to make it as writer, That time he got conned and had to pay for a bunch of books he thought were freebies... damn!

Also, Grandpa Walton was more of a father figure to me than my father.

Loved the series, not so keen on the TV movies that ignored how old everyone should really be.

Been watching this right through on True. Still a great show decades on. Lovely to see 'John Walton' still going strong as an actor playing Gibbs's father in NCIS.

Odd that they show all the spin off movies often (indeed they are showing them again this weekend). But they never show the first ever movie after the series ending - the first Walton's Wedding one - and instead show as a movie the double episode where Oliva gets polio. Anyone know why?

They just had the 40th anniversary reunion in the States. Lots of interesting stuff on line. Used Google Street View to take a tour of Schuyler (the real Walton's Mountain) and Rockfish (which is a real place as is the river). The actual school where the Hamner (Walton) kids all graduated is now a museum to the show in this backwater hamlet 28 miles south of Charlotesville (a mileage given in the show itself).

Earl Hamner (the real life John Boy and the man whose voice over you hear in each episode of the series) is still posting a blog of his reminiscences at nearly 90.

Also interesting to note that the actor who plays Jason (the second oldest son and musician) is English (born in Blackburn, Lancs, moving to the US as a small child). And that Michael Learned (Olivia) went to school in England.
