They're not waiting a year though...their single will be out in July. Winners usually release their singles at the start of the next series.

A debut single is a first single they already had that with Cannonball whether it be the winners single or not.

Wings will be their second single

Anyone know when we'll get to hear it?

No.

But Jade tweeted that we will hear it very very soon so I would say possibly Mid June, with the first performance of it on T4OTB which is on July 1st

T4OTB isn't the best place to premiere a single.

The crowd is usually pretty dead there and if it's really windy/bad weather then it could be a bit of a shambles, especially if the vocals aren't on point.

This year's auditions have already started.
If the single is out in June/July that will actually be early for an XF winner!

I imagine it will be cheesy and be a bit generic in some respect. My guess is a cross between 1d and jls.

It does feel slower than usual, even though it's not. But I'm guessing once it comes everything is going to happen quickly.

No I don't think they should go down the route of 1D/JLS. I like both groups but I think the girls should take a bit of a risk and not be predictable.

Shauna - hopefully. But I prefer to "hope for the best but expect the worst".

TMS producing is still promising though.

I'm sure you knew what I meant. The XF winner wins the show, has the Christmas single, and then you hear sod all from/about them for ages. It's a stupid formula but because it worked for Leona Lewis, they won't even think about changing it.

Actually Leana was the first. Previous to that winners released single and album much sooner and posters complained it was rushed! Syco/Sony can't really win

There's got to be a sensible balance. I say, take time with the album but have the winners do loads of easily accessible public appearances, tv and radio appearances, and generally just keep up a really good PR trail. Having them totally disappear is nuts, and unfair on the excited fans who voted for them to win in the first place.

Let me get this straight - this manufactured act's single is being released in July and it's being hyped NOW?!

I don't seem to recall this happening when tracks climbed the charts... and is this off an album to be shortly released as well?
I don't seem to remember them being all that good on the programme...

As to T4 on the Beach, I think Cher Lloyd premiered her stuff there and she did OK for herself. I think it shows the market theyre going for?

I wonder if they'll try and make them all middle class nicey nicey like they do with One Direction - a walking ad for H and M...

Hopefully not. I can see a cross between two. Although I like the girls I know their a brand as well.

We still have probably a month left for premiere. I think?

Give them a chance. The single might actually be quite good. Don't knock it until you hear it. If I like it I'll probably be a converted fan.

Even though we don't have a release date, i think it's possible they are following Cher Lloyd's single.

Quote:
This is how they did Cher Lloyd

1st single airplay June 20th
July 10th preformed on t4 on beach (first?)
July 31st released same day aire fm and key concerts.

So Is this possible? Release on July 22nd?
Although if it aired The same week in June, it'd be during stoke live?
I posted this over in x factor folder for LM.

Another poster brought up about the olympics. Which is end of the 22nd week. So, if they took it back a week, it'd be release the day of Misha B's single. Which could be an option under the theory people would buy both.

I know Leigh-Anne(when they had their personal twitters) said end of July. But i have my doubts it's coming the 31st with the promo dates coming sooner.

Otherwise i have to clue, but i just noticed some similarities in the promo schedule(s). So, the thought came to mind and im bored. lol

I am so so about them.

There's not a hoping hell they will ever match the success of The Spice Girls no matter how hard they try to convince themselves

Obviously, we rarely see Spice Girl success anymore. But they are a good influence to have for this group. IMHO

Oh good, a thread in the Music forum.

Why do people say they were "locked away" when they've performed at the National Television Awards, spent a month and a half touring the UK, and have done various charity and corporate gigs since Jan.? Not to mention launching that M&Ms Jubilee line. They seem to have been quite busy.

2 months from announcement to release seems to be the formula for everyone lately. I think that's basically Cheryl Cole's schedule so far.

I dont think whatever they have is going to be generic dance either. Leigh-Anne said in their video she wanted them to be "BAM! in the building!" They seem to be good at the fusion of various genres into their presentation.

And of course it's audio-captured on first airplay and torrented...

Have they released for promotional streaming? (is this how things are done, compared to the entry-at-lower-end-of-charts and we see it rise that used to happen back in the day?
