The tweet from Wonderland on the first page of the thread has got me quite excited.

Wonderland are quite a hipstery, high end art magazine usually reserved for the more 'credible' end of the market - usually the thought of the likes of JLS or Olly Murs would give most of their regular readers a seizure ... but as well as that tweet, they were also tweeting about how great LM would be for Eurovision next year? They seem to have a very positive spin on the band, which makes me think LM could be making an appearance soon-ish?

It's all a bit strange from a magazine so far away from LM's demographic, unless LM are chasing credibility and the magazine are trying to entice LM's fanbase into buying it? Either way, I think I'm going to take the tweets as a sign Wings is so incredibly good, even hardcore hipsters won't pretend they don't love it.

There was a tweet a little while ago from a DJ who heard the single on a promo I am assuming who said the song had "massive hooks". Does anyone remember the name of that DJ? I'd find it otherwise.

I could play cynic do badly even with a group I'm rooting.

I just hope it is infact as good as they say.

I don't remember the dj but I don't think he was well known?

Edit; wonderland has featured Alexandra before.

They announced the title officially as "Wings".

A snippet will be played on Alan Carr on Friday.

OMFG just heard Little Mix's new single 'Wings' in the office (as we have them on the show this week). It's brilliant!

James Smales ‏@JimBuck2

@____ The 'OMFG' was an ironic use of internet vernacular, but the single is great. Wait until you hear it....

James Smales ‏@JimBuck2

@____ brilliant. Genuinely people will go crazy for it. Even if they weren't fans before

James Smales ‏@JimBuck2

Little Mix just did their interview - refreshing to have a girl band who can have a laugh

James Smales ‏@JimBuck2

@____ we play about 30 seconds as they walk out. Listen carefully on Friday!!

@JimBuck2 Spill the beans, on a scale of 1-10 how good is the Little Mix single?

James Smales ‏@JimBuck2

@____ honestly.... 11.

Sounds like it'll have a good chorus.

I'm so relieved it isn't a generic dance song aswell!!!

Radio1 premiere next Monday!!

Next Monday is the 11th which is a landmark of Little Mix and their fans as that will be exactly 6months since they won X Factor So its nice imo how their new song is premiered on the day the won X Factor 6 months previous

Lyrics released tomorrow on Twitter, first radio play on Monday.

I have a question for the pundits. Would it be better in the long run** to snatch the #1 crown but have it fall quickly, or not get the title but stay for a long long time in the top 10? Optimally you would want to get that #1 and have a long life.

**meaning, sales and credibility

The latter. A #3 with a chart run of 3 - 3 - 3 - 5 - 8 - 9 in the top ten is MUCH better (and will achieve more sales and airplay) than a song with a 1 - 4 - 8 top ten chart run (which Cher Lloyd and Nero will tell you about from last year).

But as they are XF winners, not getting a #1 would look bad imo...they definitely need at least a top 3.

They got a #1 with 'Cannonball'. They don't really need the song to get to #1 (although it probably will), as long as it's a hit.

I was thinking of "Moves Like Jagger". I dont think it ever hit #1? but it was like the houseguest that wouldnt leave in the charts. And that longevity made sure it ended up on everybody's lips and I always heard it as a background song clip on tv documentaries.

Being in the top 10 for weeks and not getting a #1 is not as good as a #1 and being in the top 10 for 4 weeks imo.

I would say 1-3--6-10 would be a sucess as long as it beats or equals Cannonball's top 40 lifespan I would say thats a sucess

A song that has 'legs' is better than a song that hits no. 1 first week and then drops quickly. The quick drop song has only been bought by the fanbase whereas the song with legs (or wings) has reached a new audience.

I got a feeling these girls are gonna be big.
The last time I said that was about Gary Numan by the way!

Adele - "21" I think its set to go #1 again in the US!

I have a gut feeling that what they are trying to bring to the music scene is the right timing and they could be the forefront of a shift which they can take full advantage of.

I have a feeling Perrie dating Zayn from One Direction is going to potentially damage Little Mix' commercial success as I think both bands will have the same fanbase and alot of One Direction fangirls seem to despise Perrie right now. Its sad
