Richard has confirmed that talkSPORT are broadcasting their secondary choices of final group games on their secondary online webstream only, with the primary picks (Greece v Russia tonight, Portugal v Netherlands tomorrow and the Ireland and England games during the week) being broadcast on both AM and DAB.

Today's live coverage started at 6pm (as will tomorrow's), with Matt Holland joining Richard at the National Stadium for the first hour of the build-up. Matt's already co-hosted Euro Football First with Ian Danter and Ray Parlour earlier in the day.

They are doing a review of Euro 2012 so far and have just played a clip from last night's England v Sweden commentary in which Sam Matterface handed over to John Anderson to detail Theo Walcott's introduction from the bench, so going by that he seems to be carrying out the usual "touchline reporting" duties commonplace in talkSPORT's Premier League commentaries.”

are TS putting their commentaries up via their listen again service? 5live commentaries are up on Iplayer and just wondering if TS are doing the same?

Interesting to listen to 2 very different views regarding the "penalty" Greece didn't get..

5live's Pat Nevin seemed sure the Greek guy tried to con the officials by dragging his leg into the Russian defender whereas Andy Gray* (and Alvin Martin) spent about 15 minutes after the game going on about what an awful decision it was..

Not that it mattered in the end but it does prove whatever the refs do he might not please everyone.

*I would wonder if he'd be saying a forward has the right to go down when touched if it was against Scotland or one of the club sides he played for?

I listened again to some of the England vs Sweden shouting but not tried it for any of the other games, the Beeb invariably outclasses them even with handicaps like the Turnip or lazy Lawro.

John Murray, Connor McNamara & Kevin Kilbane

I think they've got those games the wrong way round personally. BBC TV have got it right.

Adrian Durham presenting Euro 2012 Live from Warsaw, joined by Darren Gough between 6-7pm

Portugal v Netherlands - Sam Matterface and Stan Collymore (AM and DAB commentary)

To clarify for Steve, talkSPORT are putting all of their Euro 2012 commentaries (barring those that are/were online only games) onto the talkSPORT Listen Again service in the usual manner as they do with their commentaries on club matches.

Does anyone know how 5Live/Sports Extra are reporting on the game they aren't covering?

Also, is if odd that BBC TV goes for Spain vs Croatia as a main game but 5Live opt for Italy vs ROI?

5live have been taking in-game reports from the sports extra commentator. so, Darren Fletcher was reporting in to the commentary of Holland v Portugal last night with updates on Germany v Denmark.

Monday 18th June - talkSPORT

Richard Keys presenting Euro 2012 Live from Stadion Miejski, Poznan alongside Matt Holland

UEFA Euro 2012 Group C
Croatia v Spain - Ian Danter and Micky Quinn (talkSPORT.co.uk commentary)
Italy v Republic of Ireland - John Roder and Andy Gray (AM and DAB commentary), with Matt Holland providing extra analysis and Liam Aherne reporting

talkSPORT are doing much the same as Radio 5 Live when it comes to covering the final group games, with the commentator on the talkSPORT.co.uk game filing updates into the AM and DAB commentary at the same kind of intervals they do to update a typical league game on Matchday Live. However, one slight difference is that when a goal has been scored, they've been playing in goal commentary as it went out live on talkSPORT.co.uk as opposed to going over for a report.

was listening to the Spain Croatia game on sports extra this evening. with about 15-20 minutes to go, 5live switched commentaries away from the RoI v Italy game which moved over on to sports extra and the Spain Croatia game moved across to 5live. probably a sensible move with the possibility of a poor Spain being knocked out if Croatia had scored.

Monday 18th June - Absolute Radio

Russ Williams presenting Rock 'N' Roll Football Live alongside Perry Groves and Tony Dorigo

UEFA Euro 2012 Group C
Italy v Republic of Ireland - Jim Proudfoot and Tony Dorigo (commentary)

Decided to listen to this commentary while watching the game with the sound turn down on the TV this evening, with it being my first real taste of Absolute's coverage of Euro 2012. Despite the weird set-up (JP is on-site, TD is co-commentating from their London studios, which they didn't attempt to disguise), I thought it worked well largely because Jim and Tony have a lot of experience working together so know when to come in/shut up when necessary. Jim and Tony's respective knowledge of Serie A, both of them being involved in ESPN's coverage of the league, came into play here and brought a lot of authority to the commentary.

Additionally, Perry Groves was called upon to give updates on the other game in the group, although given the way Croatia v Spain went he wasn't required that often. Those of you who listen to Rock 'N' Roll Football Live during the regular season will know how this works, as during their Premier League commentaries (with Russ Williams presenting an alternative programme on FM and DAB) Perry will often come in to update and analysis Saturday's other top flight games. I expect he'll be doing the same thing for Sweden v France during Ukraine v England commentary tomorrow.

I've listened to a few games with Absolute radio during the tournament and I've relaly enjoyed the JP/TD commentary pairing.
@ the Difference, what did you make of John Roder and Andy Gray on Talksport? I believe you were planning to listen to a game with them a few days ago? I've really enjoyed Roder's work so far.

Just got back from Ukraine/Poland(krakow)

Tuned my radio hoping to get any DAB stations in either country,no luck.

Had me i-pad with me and hoped I could listen to the Talksport/BBC Five live radio commentaries of the matches.

I had the normal contract reasons broadcast.

I Never give it a thought, to tape the Sweden and French matches(against England) with Ukraine commentary.

Hope the above info will be of use to some of you

I have heard them the once - I listened to their commentary on Saturday's Greece v Russia game.

I've got to be honest, I'm not a huge fan of Andy Gray. I know people say you either love him or you loathe him but while I'd not consider myself to be at the latter extreme and can appreciate his strengths, in the confidence and clarity of his analysis, I have found himself to be very strident in his views, as detailed by Mark F above on the Karagounis booking. I've preferred what I've heard of Alvin Martin - who's been excellent as he always is on the two occasions I've heard him - and Stan Collymore but Gray has been listenable enough.

John Roder has sounded exactly as he does on Match of the Day, which is a very good thing. Despite not having done a full radio commentary since perhaps as far back as his BBC Coventry & Warwickshire days, he's gelled back into working for the medium with consummate ease, he doesn't sound like a TV commentator on the radio as John Taylor for example was accused of sounding like early on in talkSPORT's Rugby World Cup coverage last year. He sounds at ease and equally natural working on radio as he does on TV, which is a strength regular cross-medium commentators like Jim Proudfoot and Simon Brotherton possess.

I might be out of step with a fair few opinions I have read on Keys & Gray (most on here and on the talkSPORT Chat thread seem to like Gray's punditry and co-commentaries but struggle to warm to Keys), but I have to say I've found myself warming to Richard Keys. He comes across better as a personality than perhaps I was expecting and has worked well with pundits other than Gray. I've listened to a fair bit of talkSPORT's build-up before all three Republic of Ireland matches and thought his rapport with Matt Holland made for very listenable radio.

I know Sam Matterface and Stan Collymore have taken a bit of stick for getting themselves a bit mixed up with regards the Group B possible scenarios during this commentary, but when I heard them on the Germany v Netherlands match they worked well together as usual, had a strong knowledge of both teams and did a good job of communicating the passion within the stadium. I'm pleased to see that they'll both get the chance to commentate on the final going by the schedule that 4-4-2 posted, they deserve it for their efforts over the course of the season.

Last day of the Euros at least in terms of covering live matches it would appear for Nigel Pearson and Alvin Martin, who are doing Sweden v France for talkSPORT.co.uk, and also Ian Danter who is doing the same game for UEFA.com. I think all three of them have done very well in spite of their obvious handicap location-wise and can be proud of their efforts.

I have to admit I'm a paid up member of the Gray fan club-- though i do think he dwelt overly much on the Greek penalty on Saturday which, had absolutely no impact on the game as they won anyway so I see what you mean about him being a bit strident. I don't listen to much TV commentary so this was my first experience of John Roder as a commentator. I've listened to all the games he's done for the station during Euro2012. in the first game I thought he took a few minutes to find his feet (probably getting used to commentating for radio again) but since then he's been great.

I was one of those who knocked Sam and Stan for getting group B muddled up, specifically stating that the Dutch were out after their loss to Germany. now, I'm a big fan of them both generally but I thought this was pretty shoddy work, particularly from Sam who you would have expected to have done his research in advance about possible outcomes within the group. I'm not trying to be critical for the sake of it-- as can be seen from other posts I'm largely supportive of TS but this inacuracy marred an otherwise good broadcast for me.
in the interests of balance, I listened to the second half of the England v Sweden game with them on Talksport and I thought it was one of Sam's best commentaries. both Matterface and Collymore conveyed the drama of the match with England going behind then turning it around late on. I

Gray is a great pundit and co-comm. Keys is a decent presenter but became a bit smug on Sky.

As humans. Wouldn't want to come across either of them (And I'm not just going off stories/rumours here)

thanks for that-- shame they are back to 2 commentators but hey ho. I could be wrong but I think the commentators seem to be moving around between Poland and Ukraine a bit for the quarters which is different to how it was in the group stages where each commentator was based in either country.
during Rock and Role Football last night on absolute, Jim Proudfoot mentioned that they would have commentary on the 2 Ukraine based quarter finals. presumably as England could have appeared in either one of them.

Shame Graham Taylor doesn't get to do a co-commentaty if Chris Waddle is doing two. I think he's one of 5 LIve's best co-commentators so it's a shame if he's only getting 1 actual co-commentary at the tournament. Although I think he did one at the semi-final stage of the World Cup so maybe he'll get to do one this time round too.

It's probably a good idea to go back to the 2 commentators for the quarters. It spreads the big matches around a bit more and 5 Live have the depth to do that. I do think they'd have struggled to fill 2 commentary slots for each of the group matches though. Looking back to 2008 they'd lost McNamara, Ingham & Dennis largely to reporting duties, Brotherton to TV and Brown for whatever reason. I don't think they'd have the strength in depth to have 8 commentators there without any of those mentioned above. Personally I'd have used someone else for Ireland reporting and I don't see the need to have both Dennis and Ingham on reporting duty for England (which I believe they're both doing?)

Never found a backdoor into listening to any comms sadly in Turkey. Most nights seen the footy in a Bar! Back home though and listened to stuff on listen again. Sam Matterface is doing a decent Job it's Stan Collymore who is so grating shouting all over him.
