what can teens do for summer?

We've 3 months off school and want to make the most of it and have some fun. We've planned nights out, short holiday, beach, days in park and cinema. Anything else we could do to avoid boredom?

Festivals????? These are always a good laugh. Did you decide where to go on holiday in the end?

That was knocked on the head and our parents just laughed at us Guess we hadn't really thought it through. In the end we thought Marbella but can't afford it so atm we're looking for weekend jobs and decided if we can save we can go next year hopefully. For now we're gonna go to a seaside resort and not bother about going to another country

If you're old enough, why not try to get jobs at a Butlins or similar type of place? Two birds with stone.

Youth hosteling. Festivals. Pretend you are staying with friend's parents but sleep on the beach instead. Go to France for the day (dont know where you live). Camping tho its difficult to find somewhere if you are under 18. Camp in the garden of a relative.. Canoing, sailing, roller blading, cycling.. Go on holiday with your parents but take a mate.. Paint your room.

Get out there and explore your native country.

As Alan Partridge said, "Dere's more ta Oireland dan dis".

I am still gobsmacked that 16/ 17 year old school goers would even think of Australia for a short holiday ? . People save for years to do that trip and have worked for the fare etc ,.??

Teenager in "being a bit naive about something" shocker!!!

Give the girl a break. She's said she's shelved those plans because she didn't think it out properly. Do you want her to apologise as well?

I can express that I am gobsmacked if I wish , no need to put words in my mouth about apoligies

And some adults can be naive too by the way ,

You're right.

Seemingly, if you wish, you can also peck at her several times over the issue on this thread, and her other one.

I am of the opinion that no 17 year old in a secondary school in Ireland in naive enough not to know you need money to get to these places .Also not naive enough to ask where they can have a beach holiday and would Milan or Rome be good for that kind of holiday .I could of course be wrong and some 17 are that naive and if so I express my astonishment .

And for some reason you feel the need to peck at me and its not the first time either . You seem to feel the need to be a board monitor at times .Fair enough if thats is your preference .I just dont have to bow to your superiority.

I don't think she ever said she thought she didn't need money to get to these places.

And so what if she doesn't know that Milan or Rome aren't good for beach holidays? Perhaps she doesn't have much of a background in Geography. Perhaps she knows nothing of Italy. She asked for advice on the matter though, because by her own admission she didn't know the answer. I've seen people ask stupider questions - here and elsewhere. I would bet there are many people three or four times her age who have no knowledge of Milan or Rome and couldn't point them out on a map.

BIB - I could say exactly the same about you pecking at me in the past, so touché.

And you seem to feel you are the Queen of the Advice forum. Yet here, and on other advice threads, I've seen you resort to bullying tactics or piss-artistry if for some reason you take a dislike to the OP . So I won't be bowing to you either.

I'm with Abbasolutely 40 on this one! They're teenagers, not 4-year-olds

learn to cook and clean and other household domestic duties. Many teens these days don't know how to do much.

Go to library, get some books, read.
Help your parents with household and gardening chores.
Go for walks in the beautiful countryside.
