Never Saw it Coming by Linwood Barclay.
A fake psychic/clairvoyant scammer gets in too deep.
Pretty good so far

just finished Lustrum by Robert Harris which I loved-- looking forward to the final book in the series 'Dictator' in October.
Now reading and really enjoying 'Follow you Home' by Mark Edwards.

In The Unlikely Event - Judy Blume
This story is set in New Jersey, winter 1953, and within three months, there are 3 plane crashes in the city which deeply affects the local communities, and how lives are torn apart and brought closer together.
This is told by a large handful of characters, who had been affected, far to many in IMO, as I had trouble in remembering who was who, but, overall, this was an engrossing read, with an upbeat ending,

The Father: Made in Sweden by Anton Svensson. It's very good, it's about three brothers who commit bank robberies across Sweden and about the man (The Father) who made them that way. The fourth and innocent brother tells the story. Tis good so far.

I just finished this, it's good if not a bit OTT.

Portrait Of A Killer - Jack The Ripper Case Closed by Patricia Cornwell

Widely accepted to be amongst the worst of the dozens and dozens of Ripper books on the market I'm approaching this with no little trepidation!

Had no intention of reading it but spotted it in a charity shop for 20p and my curiosity got the better of me

I've read it, it's fun. Cornwell could do with realising Scarpetta is fictional, i.e. she is not a medical examiner, though.

Reading H Is For Hawk, a recent Costa winner about a woman's journey with falconry after grief and bereavement.

I'm halfway through it and its a wonderfully awful read, so far I have to say its reputation appears to be well deserved!

Crazy Rich girlfriend- Kevin Kwan

I picked up the first book Crazy Rich Asians a few years ago for £0.89 and enjoyed it a lot. I'm enjoying the sequel so far.

I've just reserved "Dark Places" by Gillian Flynn at my local waterstones gonna pick it up later.

I'm really enjoying the book that I downloaded on my kindle though. it's worth looking through the free section of the Kindle store if you don't know what to read.

Gillian Flynn is fantastic. I need to get around to Dark Places and Sharp Objects. I inadvertently spoiled a Dark Places plot point by watching the film trailer which gives everything away.

I didn't realise that it was being turned into a film. I'll avoid the trailer until I've finished the book. thanks for the heads up.

Unfortunately my local waterstones don't have a copy so I'll be ordering it online. Does anyone know of any good websites for second hand books?

'It's Not Me, It's You' by Jon Richardson.

It is a brilliant, brilliant book about his attempts to find love (written before he was married, obviously) and his need for perfection - funny, interesting and relatable all at once! Would definitely recommend for anyone who is a fan of him.

Just finished 'Make Me' the 20th Jack Reacher novel.
I know the Reacher books are devisive, you either love
them or wouldn't touch them; I am a fan,and this one is
okay. Nothing special, not one of the 'best ones' but a
good entertaining read.

[b]One Small Act of Kindness - Lucy Dillon[b]
Lovely, charming, feelgood story of one helping a stranger, after a car accident suffering from amnesia, and the events, thereafter. Makes me want to transport myself into the story and help them.

I'm listening to Hamlet, Prince of Denmark: A Novel by A. J. Hartley and David Hewson. It's narrated by the lovely Richard Armitage. I didn't study Hamlet at school and only have a hazy idea of the story. This version is very good, with a Game of Thrones feel to it, and the narration is excellent.

I'm about to start reading The House at Sea's End by Elly Griffiths. It's the third book in the Ruth Galloway series. More skeletons for Ruth and DCI Nelson to investigate.
