I always have several books on the go at once, so here's what I've currently got on:

Re-reading A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle - one of my absolute favourites.

Tales of the Round Table - edited by Mike Ashley

Journeys out of the Body by Robert Monroe

Space/Time Magic by Taylor Ellwood

A Magical Life: The Magical Journey of Taylor Ellwood Volume I - Taylor Ellwod

I'm listening to David Mitchell's new book Slade House, read by Tania Rodrigues and Thomas Judd. It's quite short and comprises five stories, starting in 1979 and then one story every nine years. I've just finished the second story. According to the blurb it's related to his Bone Clocks novel, so far it hasn't been necessary to have read that book (although I have and mostly liked it). So far, so good, slightly scary but not petrifying, it has a Neil Gaiman feel to it.

I'm reading Unseen Things Above by Catherine Fox. It's the follow up to Acts and Omissions, which was on special offer at the end of last year, and which I thoroughly enjoyed. Another springtime in Lindchester and it's time to appoint the new Bishop. Unlikely to be female, there's an outside chance that the new appointee could be openly gay. We're following the lives of characters from the last book from the point of view of an omniscient (slightly spiteful) presence soaring above, including the possible return of ex-chorister Freddy May. There are some new characters, lovely descriptions of the scenery and, hopefully, lots of music.

I particularly like the relationships between the detectives.”

Now reading Lasting Damage by Sophie Hannah - book 6 in the Culver Valley series - I am reading them out of order as I have read some of them a few years ago without realising they were a series and also depending on the price on Amazon!

Just finished 'The Road to Little Dribbling' by Bill Bryson,
and just started 'Back Story' by the OTHER David Mitchell
(The TV comic actor, not the author of 'Cloud Atlas' etc!)
Found the Bryson a bit disappointing to be honest, still
made me laugh a few times, but seems more of an 'old
mans rant against everything' than the more balanced
moans in his earlier stuff!

I'm reading Homer's Odyssey and Iliad as I'm working on a degree in Classical Studies.

In my leisure time I'm just finishing Michael Pattemore's 'My Lynda' and have really enjoyed it. They shared such a deep love and close relationship, it's heartbreaking in many places but he has honoured Lynda's memory so well with this book.

[quote=Eddie Badger;80075971]One of my reading pleasures is sitting in a big comfy chair in front of the fire on a cold winter's night reading Sherlock Holmes (with a glass of single malt).[/QUOTE

A Study In Scarlet Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
The first one of the Sherlock Holmes series and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it, once I got used to the writing. The second part of the book was exceptional.. Thanks for your entries, one and all!
