Just finished The Big Four (Poirot), it's full of twists and turns, you fooled me Christie, fooled me many times in that book! It is a good read, unpredictable I'd say.

Two Years Eight Months and Twenty Eight Nights by Salman Rushdie. Quite literally brilliant. A hint of Margaret Atwood about it, with the requisite anti-religious message. He's an astonishingly great writer. Comedic dystopia at its brilliant best.

At the moment I've parked this after a couple of chapters. Disappointing for me. Bryson has reduced me to tears of mirth with his previous efforts but this one is only good for a mild chuckle. Still a good read but off form, for him.

I just adored it; love, love LOVE David Mitchell.
Have just started 'Mist Over Pendle' by Robert Neill. Published in the early 50s - has had very good reviews over the years. From Amazon:

I thought this one was one of her best as I knew little about Katherine Parr other than she kept her neck
I'm reading Wulf Hall and it's fantastic.
I'm house sitting for my mum at the moment, she has way more cats than me so it makes more sense to move in to hers and pop to mine every day to feed my non needy monsters, hers are very needy.
Any way, in the last three days I've read from her shelves a Jeffrey archer book, which was terrible, a book on selective mutism calledDecember by Elizabeth Winthrop which I didn't finish because it was dire and a Nora Roberts book, which was exactly as you'd expect a Nora Roberts to be. My brain feels like it's disintegrating, but I have just found a book called touching distance by Rebecca Abrams under the bed which looks quite interesting. Wish me luck!

Just finished Ian Rankin's latest Inspector Rebus novel, Even Dogs in the Wild. Despite being retired, Rebus is called back as a "consulting detective" to help with a typically convoluted case involving the murders of a top lawyer, a lottery winner, the attempted murder of Rebus' long-time foe Big Ger Cafferty, a potential gang war and a stray dog.
I really enjoyed it, just as well as I'm going to see Rankin next week.

All together now - Gill Hornby - reading this for my book group - it's not the sort of book I would usually choose and seems a bit twee but I'll persevere!
