Not long since finished The Shell Seekers by Rosamund Pilcher, now reading Poppet by Mo Hader, a bit out of context because I read Wolf her latest one a few weeks back.

The French House by Nick Alexander, the sequel to The Case of the Missing Boyfriend. I'm enjoying this series.

To be honest I think I've developed a sort of mental block, I approach it knowing full well I've never managed to finish it and resigned to doing the same again.”

Same here - lots of my friends love 'Catch 22' but it did absolutely nothing for me. I gave up after about 1/3 too. I think it's just one of those 'love it or hate it' books.

I've recently discovered Belinda Bauer and am working my way through her books. Just finished 'Rubbernecker' which was brilliant, and I'm now in the middle of 'Darkside'. Good quality crime fiction with plenty of focus on character and character interaction (which I like).

I'm reading Hunger by Michael Grant, the 2nd in the Gone series- have to say it's not gripping me. Not sure I'll bother with the rest.

It's a strange one, I've read a lot of highly rated books that i didn't think were all that but I could see why they were highly rated and why they were appreciated by some, but with Catch-22 I just cant see any reason whatsoever why people like it

I just started Diana Gabaldon's Outlander. I wonder whether it will live up to the hype.

I'm listening to Fingersmith by Sarah Waters, narrated by Juanita McMahon.
Sue Trinder is an orphan and has grown up in a family of petty thieves in Victorian London. She becomes involved in a plot to relieve a wealthy heiress of her fortune. Really good so far.

I'm reading Dead Man's Grip by Peter James. (Roy Grace 7).
A fatal road traffic accident has unexpected consequences for the survivors. Also very good but there is one character who I would very much like to ditch from this series.

Love Sarah Waters and Fingersmith. There's an adaptation to this that's sometimes shown on, I think, the drama channel

Just started At my Mother's Knee....and other Low Joints by Paul O'Grady - the first part of his autobiography - he was brought up near to my neck of the woods so I thought it might be interesting - also I have a slight quest to read more (auto)biographies this year.

Book one has lots of historical inaccuracies in it but the story is fine and she improves as the series goes on in terms of the tightness of her writing, accuracy, but I found it all got a bit samey the longer it went on.
I've not read the latest one yet.

Just finished The Watchmaker of Filigree Street by Natasha Pulley.

Absolutely loved it. Reminded me of the Sally Lockhart books as it's set in Victorian England and has a bit of mystery around it.

Can I join in?!

I've just discovered a new (to me) crime writer - LJ Ross, I just finished her second in the DCI Ryan series - Sycamore Gap and bought the 3rd called Heavenfield this morning ready for starting tonight.

Skagboys by Irvine Welsh. Finding it a bit of a drag but sometimes my enjoyment of a book depends on my mood.

If it's not for my book club, where I generally do my best to finish it, I just stop reading and get rid of them usually via BookMooch.

I've never heard of bookmooch, do you get a lot of take up on the books you put on there?
