Ah. I love that Clint Eastwood movie, didn't know it was based on a book. Gene Hackman is great as the nasty President.

I haven't seen the movie, but the book is much more fleshed out, plus there are more characters. Definitely, worth a read.

It's been described as a fairytale for adults. Ida MacLaird is slowly turning to glass and returns to the island where she believes that she was enchanted in search of a cure. I'm finding it difficult to get into this one.
I'm listening to Different Class by Joanne Harris, narrated by Steven Pacey and Ewan Goddard. It follows on from a previous book, Gentlemen & Players, which I loved. Roy Straitley teaches Latin at a private school in North Yorkshire and is fast approaching retirement. When a new head teacher is appointed to turn around the now failing school, Straitley is disconcerted to recognise him as a troublesome former pupil. Set in 1981 and 2005.
So far, very good.

It's only just been published, so is rather expensive at the moment. This is where Audible comes in handy as everything costs 1 credit, even the new stuff!

I love audible too, and I will certainly put this on my wish list but I've also 'wishlisted' the book as well
Currently reading 'hot rock' by Donald Westlake, about a bungling bunch of bank robbers/ex cons who attempt to steal an emerald from the African government and sell it to the insurers for a higher price...all goes ok ish until one of the group eats the emerald ...v entertaining
apparently there was a 1972 movie based on the book starring Robert Redford and George Segal, has anyone seen it?
there's a couple of sequels, 'bank shot' and 'Jimmy the kid' which I can't wait to read

I read The Hot Rock years ago, probably in the late 80's, and absolutely loved it.
The movie is well worth checking out although again its years since I've seen it

the only trouble with my kindle library is that I have currently several books on the go! I've started 'gentlemen and players' by Joanna harris, however I also have 'the road to little dribbling' by bill Bryson and 'hot rock' currently in progress!! I'm so fickle!!

The Wrong Side of Goodbye is scheduled for release in October 2016 and it says on Michael Connelly's website that it's a Bosch novel 😊

I love those books!
Currently reading The Bourne Supremacy. Thoroughly enjoying it. The first book was great and nothing like the film.
I am a big fan of Scott Mariani's Ben Hope series of books and I am awaiting delivery of his new one Star of Africa. I am really surprised this series has been picked up for a movie or two. It's all action and has great characterisation.

Just finished Diana Gabaldon's Outlander books. Well I re-read from book 3 onwards and read the last 3 for the first time. Glad to be finished, I do find they get very long winded and convoluted as the books go on.
