When I was invisible - Dorothy Koomson - I have enjoyed all of the books I have read by this author and this has been likened to The Ice Cream Girls which was one of my favourites.

I've just finished The Teacher by Katerina Diamond, the cover bills it as "A shocking and compelling new crime thriller - NOT for the faint-hearted!" - they weren't wrong
It was a Kindle 99p book.I've started Blue Lightning the 4th in Ann Cleeves Shetland series, this one is set on Fair Isle. |

I bought that too for 99p, looking forward to reading it soon - it's not too gruesome is it?
![]() Personally I felt it wasn't that great - I didn't feel any empathy with any of the characters - not even the 'good guys' but for 99p I'm not complaining too much!! |

Trying not to give too much away but there are a few quite graphic descriptions of 'injuries' that made me recoil a little - but I'm a bit squeamish anyway

My new audiobook is The Book of Strange New Things by Michel Faber, read by Josh Cohen.
A missionary travels to a newly colonised planet to minister to an alien flock, leaving behind his wife and old life. I have a feeling that this could be dire but found myself buying it anyway. We shall see. I'm about to read Not Dead Yet by Peter James (Roy Grace 8). I bought this as a Kindle special offer ages ago and had to read the previous seven books in order get round to this one. A good series. |

Dying Light - Stuart McBride.
I bought it in a sell-off at my local library. Paperbacks 10p each or a carrier bag full for a pound. Pretty good so far. Quite gruesome murder mystery. Right up my alley. |
