From The Dead - Mark Billingham
Are you enjoying it? I'll probably read it at one point.

Three wishes - Liane Moriarty - seems a bit too chicklit - I need to choose my books better as I didn't like The Teacher either, but once I start a book I almost always finish it - at least it's an easy read.

"London for immigrant suckers". Although it's on kindle. I do prefer normal books but this is an interesting read...

Case Histories - Kate Atkinson - book 1 in the Jackson Brodie series, which I read a few years ago. Have downloaded all 4 to read over the next few weeks.

One Good Turn - Kate Atkinson - book 2 of the Jackson Brodie series which I am re-reading (partly due to making some poor choices in reading recently so I wanted some books I could rely on)

I'm a crime fiction fan.

Just finished

Pretty Girls - Karin Slaughter

Really enjoyed it - though not for the faint hearted

The Girl on the Train
- very good - just seen the trailer for the film. Wish they had kept it in England, just a personal preference. The descriptions of the train journey and the house just don't add up in the trailer.

I read 12 Years a Slave by Solomon Northup in April as it was a book I got for my birthday. Good book and better than the much shorter film.

The book I've been ploughing through this year up until recently was She Bop by Lucy o' Brien but I've got to halfway and decided to have a break and popped it back to the library until summers over.

In the meantime I've got The Homecoming by Harold Pinter and Naked at the Albert Hall by Tracy Thorn as my next two books to read.

I'm listening to The Vanishing Witch by Karen Maitland, narrated by Jonathan Maitland.

This is set in Lincoln during the reign of Richard II, at the time of the Peasants' Revolt. A rich merchant is approached by an attractive widow for advice on how to invest her fortune. At around the same time his wife falls ill and his attachment to the attentive, sympathetic widow becomes stronger. Meanwhile the merchant's tenants are finding life ever more difficult as they struggle with increased rents and the prospect of the poll tax.

Superstition and possible witchery abound. I like Karen Maitland's novels and this one is shaping up very nicely.
