Just started Song of the Skylark by Erica James, I usually enjoy her books but so far (about 1/3 in) there are no likeable characters at all.

"The Pale Brown Thing", a Lovecraftian horror novella by Fritz Leiber that was later expanded into the World Fantasy Award winning novel "Our Lady of Darkness". The original US magazine version now exhumed by Swan River Press of Dublin.

Absolutely agreed. My sister ended up refusing to watch the series when I was in the house with her, because she constantly got, "What the hell? That's nothing like the book!" and "What on earth? There's no way the book ever went there!" and "Good god, he is just SO not like [insert book character name here] in the book! He'd never have done that!" or "But he was supposed to be crazy!" and so on.

And the kicker, "How far in is this? Have you found out yet what caused the dome?" haha! She switched it off at that point.
Preaching to the converted here.

Last year halfway through, I missed an episode and never bothered going back to it.

Shutter Island - Dennis Lehane
Always wanted to read novels by this author, though this started quite good, but I felt let down by the ending.

'The Hollow Crown: The Wars of the Roses and the Rise of the Tudors' - Dan Jones. This follows on from 'The Plantagenets'. Very readable for a history book - not dry at all - Jones really brings the era to life.

Finished The Pleasures of Men by Kate Williams last week, an interesting first novel by her and is a dark trip through victorian London and Kate's imagination.

Now I return to the last 200 pages of She bop by Lucy o' Brien and its continuing history of women in the music industry A bit of a dry read when I reached the bands and artists I don't know much about.

Waiting for the last book of Harry Dresden to arrive. Considering either Codex Alera or that steampunk thing also by Jim Butcher.

Disclaimer by Renee Knight. I bought it today so have only just started it. It's meant to be a psychological thriller which is a genre I've only recently started to get into.
