Victoria A Life - A N Wilson
Having marveled at the TV series Of Victoria, I wanted to read a biography of hers, to know more about her. I knew, some things about her, but ploughing through 700 pages was worth it. There were some political passages, that were quite beyond me, and her numerous children and grandchildren marrying into other dynasties, I couldn't keep up with, but I did so enjoy this biography, learning more about her, and her reign, which was so different then, as to what it is now.
Now, onto some lighter reading, methinks11

The very same moonlily. Now with Tracey's book writing I can recommend her first effort but I'm only a little of the way into Naked at the Albert Hall and its a bit slow so far. Hopefully some anecdotes from her showbiz mates will liven it up.

Recently read there will be a TV series based on Wild Cards by George R R Martin, so I thought I'd give it a go. About halfway through, so far so good. Should make an interesting show.

Just finished The Wrong Side of Goodbye by Michael Connolly. This is his latest Harry Bosch thriller and it was one of those books where once I started I just couldn't put down - luckily I had a day off work.

I have a few books on the go at the moment.
I'm listening to Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolf, narrated by Juliet Stevenson. I read the book a couple of years ago but thought that it would be good to hear Juliet Stevenson's interpretation.
I'm about to start listening to The Last Confession of Thomas Hawkins by Antonia Hodgson, narrated by John Lee. This is the follow up to The Devil in the Marshalsea, "Spring, 1728. A young, well-dressed man is dragged through the streets of London to the gallows at Tyburn. The crowds jeer and curse as he passes, calling him a murderer. He tries to remain calm. His name is Tom Hawkins and he is innocent."
I'm reading Dead Man's Time (Roy Grace #9) by Peter James. I'm not very far on with this one and Roy's love life, past and present, is irritating me already. So, I've put this to one side while I read,
Autumn: An Anthology for the Changing Seasons by Melissa Harrison. A collection of essays and poems by various authors, old and new. Very seasonal but with the glaring omission of Keats' Ode to Autumn.

How To Find Love in a Bookshop - Veronica Henry
Set in a small village, a woman struggles to run an old bookshop, after her father,, the owner, dies, and assorted members of the community with their own problems, come to her rescue and help out.
Littered with references to well known books and authors, this an easy cosy read.

Smoke and Mirrors by Elly Griffiths, book 2 in the Stephens and Mephisto series - I didn't like book 1 as much as her other series but it was reasonably good so I am trying the next in the series.

I had just finished 'Behind Closed Doors' - It was a bit of a hard read, in the sense it is disturbing, and I have never felt so upset and angry with a character like I did with this book.

I have just recently started 'I See You' by Claire Mackintosh, this is really good so far. Heard a lot of good reviews too.
