The Drowning - Camilla Lackberg

A easy read but a bit slow, 200 pages of character background without really going very far.

I'm reading Dracula, (I'm getting into the "Gothic thing" a bit late in life )
I read that when I was about sixteen - it frightened me to death!

Just finished A Wanted Man by Lee Child.

Terrible compared to the others in the Reacher series. Nothing really significant happens till about half way through no romance in this one and low on action.

Maybe he is too busy with Hollywood.

I absolutely loved The Passage by Justin Cronin, cant wait for the next one!

Then i read My Legendary Girlfriend by Mike Gayle. What a mistake, it was absolute garbage i guessed the ending a few pages in and it was the most contrived, unbelievable bull I've read in a long time.

Now on Memoirs of an Imaginary Friend by Matthew Green, its unusual but so far is holding my attention.

I really loved this book, the ending made me cry and I rarely cry at books.

I'm not reading anything at the moment, in anticipation of "The Twelve" by Justin Cronin coming out very soon!

Gabriel's Inferno by Sylvain Reynard. Not sure about this as only read 100 pages, so far. He is such a tortured soul and she is such a wimp. I hope it gets better.

Just coming to the end of a stint reading all Lee Child, and now all John Sandford books (I am on Virgil Flowers 4).
Would appreciate any suggestions to help my withdrawal symptoms about 1 week from now.
Not so keen on Lee Child, Jack Reacher is a bit too "invincible" in my opinion. Have read a few John Sandford books though and enjoyed the Lucas Davenport ones, i've yet to check out the Virgil Flowers' series. Have you tried Jo Nesbo's books? Harry Hole being the main detective character, set in Norway, great books, well written and interesting.

Yep, indeed. Having despatched "The Lion" in his last book, Mr Corey is now after a Panther

And yes, Kate his wife is along for the ride. With the exception of "The Twelve" which is out next weekish, its the book I have been most looking forward to all year and its not letting me down.
Thanks, i'll keep an eye out for The Panther, good to know Kate is back too. The Lion was a great adversary and prob my favourite De Mille book in the John Corey series.

Thank you. I have read just one Jo Nesbo book. Might try some more.
I am sorry to say that the Virgil Flowers books have not grabbed me in quite the same way as other John Sandford.titles. Maybe it is the long series that gives us the connection with the characters. In one of the later Davenport books there is a tragic incident with a cop he is very close to and I was shocked at how moved I was by the story....

The Wicked Girls...Alex Marwood.

Really enjoying this although I think I know 'whodunnit'. The cover blurb describes it as 'genuinely disturbing and emotionally unsettling' which I think is a an exaggeration but it is a good read!

We'll see. If you read "the panther" or indeed any of the John Corey books next, I'm taking out a restraining order
In that case I probably shouldn't admit that I've just started reading The Passage by Justin Cronin.

Started it months ago but wasn't in the mood for such a long book (think I'd read a couple of really long books before I started that one) so put it to one side for a while but have picked it up again and I'm really enjoying it now.

Getting bottles of water in??? What kind of molly coddling over protective parent are you??? I just point mine in the direction of the tap.

In other news, am now 50% into The Passage and already have The Twelve ready to read when I'm finished this one.
