Just finished The Sick Rose by Erin Kelly. Didn't enjoy it as much as The Poison Tree and the constant jumping back and forth through time got on my nerves to be honest.
Now reading How to be a Woman by Caitlyn Moran. Next up is Mrs Dalloway, I read a tiny bit before but University work got in the way so I ended up forgetting about it. |

http://www.amazon.com/Weird-Sisters-.../dp/0007393725 someone gave me this a while ago and while I was on holiday I started reading it, about half way through now and very impressed with this new novelist will look out for more by her in the future.

I'm currently reading Outpost, by Adam Baker. Not a YA novel, but an apocalyptic one set in the Arctic - rest of the world dying off from a zombie plague, you know the kind of thing. I saw it in Waterstones the other day and fancied a nice apocalypse. It's ok - entertaining enough, but not going to win any awards for depth or characterisation.

Thought I'd give it a go but I'm not expecting much from it. |

Promises to Keep trilogy by Shayne Parkinson
Have read Sentence of Marriage (free on Kindle) and then Mud and Gold - now reading the final part - Settling the Account. Lovely 'gentle' family saga type books set in New Zealand in the 19th Century. Not my usual type of book but was drawn in by the positive reviews and the fact that the first book was free. Wasn't disappointed and downloaded (and paid ) for the others and have read them one after the other.Already have the fourth book - A Second Chance - waiting to be read next. |

Finished Arnaldur Indriadson's "Outrage". Another well crafted novel, and even though the Chief protagonist of the previous novels, erlendur is only mentioned in dispatches, we get to learn more about his side kick Erlinborg. Excellent .. just hope the Inspector himself returns safley from the fjords for the next installment

Finished Mark Twain's "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn". regarded by many as his finest work. The deep-south first person narrative is harder to follow bu the set-pieces are colourful and brings the 19th century on The Mississippi to life. I suggest Ukranian coach Oleg Blokhin should read this .. if they have a cyrillic version ... would helps him get a grip on attitudes to racism.

Decided to hold off on Kafka for a bit (it was a second hand book and a I found a black, curly hair in the introduction, put me right off!) so I'm starting Ford Maddox Ford's The Good Soldier instead.
Oh, and ITV are making a two part drama adaptation of The Poison Tree. Shooting this summer. |

The Perks of Being a Wallflower. It's very beautiful.
I saw your post and checked out the sample of this on Amazon. Downloaded and read it within 2 days and absolutely loved it. Wish I could write like that. |

Just finished reading Robin Hobb's Rainwild Chronicles 1 -Dragon Keeper. Really enjoyed it and looking forward to reading the other 2 books in the trilogy.
However have decided to make myself wait a bit before continuing with the Rainwild Chronicles and am now about to start 'The Hunger Games' by Suzanne Collins. |

Oh my god. This book is BAAAD. Really awful. It started out so promising, but went rapidly downhill. I'm reading to the end just to see how much more ridiculous it can get, and because it's not particularly long. But blimey, what cliched writing and a really ridicuous plot!

Now reading How to be a Woman by Caitlyn Moran. About to read Revenge Of The Tide by Elizabeth Haynes. She's got a lot to live up to as well after the success of Into The Darkest Corner. |

The ending was a cop out but I did enjoy the rest of the book. I wouldn't bother with Juggernaut (the prequel) though, if you thought Outpost was bad! Even I didn't enjoy that one.
Sadly, I felt the same. Kelly's an evocative writer but the plot let her down. Also, switching between timeframes disrupted the flow and got confusing. About to read Revenge Of The Tide by Elizabeth Haynes. She's got a lot to live up to as well after the success of Into The Darkest Corner. Finished Caitlin Morans' How to be a Woman - loved it. Best book I've read in a long time. Intend to start tomorrow, when it's officially released The Prisoner of Heaven by Carlos Ruiz Zafron. |

I temporarily mislaid my book, found eventually in the laundry cupboard, so started another one which is Naomi Novak's Temeraire, I'm really enjoying it! I was in two minds about trying this series of books as whilst I love fantasy and dragons and whatnot, I do also love history books and since this effectively messes with history by introducing dragons into the Napoleonic wars, I wasn't sure that I would like it - but I do!! yayy!

Currently reading The Good Father by Diane Chamberlain. Only just started it so not formed an opinion yet.
Next on my list is Criminal Minds: Sociopaths, Serial Killers and other Deviants by Jeff Mariotte which is a tie-in to the TV series and a factual book about various serial killers. |

Simple Genius- David Baldacci.
Got it for my birthday, read the first chapter and realised it was apart of a series. Stopped reading. The writing was juvenile, it felt like it had been written by an excited 10 year old. Every sentence had an adjective in it. Don't think i will buy the 1st two if this is how he writes, it's very annoying. |

New Moon by Stephenie Meyer - I'm so not the target age, but am enjoying these!
I was surprised how much I enjoyed Twilight - compared to the film (which I hated) |
