How did you find it? It was meant to be set now but seemed almost as if it was set in the very early 1990s.

Im half way through. Yes, i see what you mean with the 90s thing.

Im quite liking it, its not one of her best admittedly, but i dont think it warrants some of the one star reviews ive read on amazon.

Finished P G Wodehouse's The Code of the Woosters. Very enjoyable farce with brilliantly portrayed absurd characters. Always shied away from Jeeves and Wooster in the past due to dodgy Harvey's Bristol Cream ads and the feeble TV series with Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry .. but this book was a delight.

Kate Mosse - Citadel. It's taken me a while to get into it, but I'm hooked now!

The World According to Bob by James Bowen. I am finding it hard to put down, I finished a Street Cat named Bob and just had to go out and by the sequel. Think Bob sounds awesome,

Plob goes South by Craig Zerf. It is fantasy humour and very clever. The second of a trilogy but it can be read out of order. It's free for the next few days on an Amazon promotion.

Ok, ive finished it now - it held my attention and half way through i was liking it. Then towards the end nothing much happened and usually with Ruth Rendell theres a bit of a twist towards the end but ....
Spoiler
not so much with this one

Just finished The Black House by Peter May which I found totally gripping and now want to read Lewis Man, the sequel. Have just started Fatal Voyage by Kathy Reichs, which looks very good.

Just finished Birthdays for the Dead by Stuart MacBride. I like his Logan McRae series of detective stories but just didn't take to his new hero Ash Henderson at all, not a very nice character at all. And, even by MacBride's standards the book was very grim and dark, maybe too much.

I recently read The Saint Zita Society and I quite enjoyed it too, despite the strangely dated feel of it. I'd probably give it about 3.5 or 4 stars. There are much worse books out there, for example the book I'm currently reading....

The White Lie by Andrea Gillies - it's one of those copycat ones where the dead person is the narrator (I think The Lovely Bones started the trend - I wish it hadn't). It's really dreary. I'm trying to give it a chance, but there's a pretty good chance I'm going to have to give up on it before I lose the will to live. Definitely not a recommendation!
