Yeah, stick with it. It jumps around geographically because it's meant to be an oral account from various people all over the world. Don't expect a single narrative arc dealing with the same group of people.

Morning Poppy - long time no 'see' Notice we still have a similar taste in books. Have you read Calvin's latest - Kiss My Name?”

Hi Harry! I'm not around as much as I use Goodreads a lot more these days. Yes I did read Kiss My Name, and really enjoyed it, although it didn't make me an emotional wreck like Forever is Over did!

Currently reading Roadrage by M J Johnson quite enjoying it o far.

Reading Bel Canto and just can't seem to get into it. I'm setting myself a new goal of if I don't like a book within the first 100 pages I'm packing it in.

Dan Brown - Deception Point.

This is the second DB novel I've read - the other was The Da Vinci Code but this second one is better in my opinion!

I posted earlier:
Currently on a re-read of Scott Smith's rather good
'A Simple Plan' and am going on to read his later
book 'The Ruins' straight after!

Well that plan failed.A Simple plan is still a gruelling exercise in tension and angst, and I found it totally gripping both times that I have now read it.I would reccomend it to anyone!

The Ruins,on the other hand,is dire. Kiddy fiction, written with kiddies in mind apparently, (or,as with the first book, one eye on making a screenplay of this, which has been done,by the author!)
Awful, tedious, unbelievable characters in a stock horror movie cliche setting, poor dialogue and laughable horror.I shudder to think that I wasted time getting about one third of the way through this pap before abandoning it,and checking online that what I thought was going to happen, did indeed happen!
Very poor, especially after such a cracking debut novel! 1/10

I remember reading that last year and it stressed me out beyond belief! Talk about things spiralling out of control. Good grief!!

Just finished The Cry by Helen Fitzgerald A story about a missing 9 week old baby and can't really say any more than that without spoiling anything. I couldn't help drawing comparisons with the McCanns, although I probably shouldn't really say that, if you read the book you'll understand why!

Just started The Blackheath Seance Parlour by Alan Williams as recommended here. Only read the first chapter so can't give much of an opinion yet but it seems promising.

Nocturne(s) ? by John Connolly - creepy short stories- the first one was horrible- but I'll keep on with it as some are meant to be like M R James type tales.

Started reading 'The Ruins' a couple of days ago and I am loving it. Wondering whether to give 'A Simple Plan' a go when I have finished.

I've been putting off buying that because of the negative reviews. Shame, because it's his last book and the only one I don't have in my collection.
