3 Lions is cool. Probably my favourite. World in motion is good but it comes from a band who did 'Closer'. Brilliant album. So it does not sit well with me

I think it the most iconic song. It fitted in with the mid nineties which was the height of the Brit pop era. Also with the European championships being held in England that year, it just captured the moment.

3 Lions is a great song I like the intro to the 98 version when the crowd are actually singing 3 Lions and Jonathan Pearce says "The crosses of St George are flying all around me"

Ah, yes:

My favourite too.

It's just occurred to me that the "Thirty years of hurt" line is incorrect. England did become world champions in 1966, which was indeed thirty years before the song was recorded, but they remained champions until 1970 when Brazil won the tournament, so strictly speaking that line should have been "Twenty six years of hurt", even though it doesn't scan.

Think yourself lucky. Done at the height of Corden's ego trip, it was bloody awful.

Here's a good new England song, although it does serve to remind us how crap England have been at the Euros over the years:

Dutch Uncles - Road to Roy

Ok, pretty much all your favoutite England songs mentioned in this thread are included in my 5 minute England Football Minimx.

I created this originally for Radio 1 for World Cup Germany 2006.

Last night I did a long awaited update to it for Euro 2012.

It is available for free download here....

Please everyone take just a few minutes to listen to this, it's from the World Cup 2010 and is by a singer from Manchester called Gideon Conn and Clint Boon, formerly of the Inspiral Carpets. I promise you will love it, or at the very least it will put a big smile on your face.
