Euros Betting

Im thinking of putting on some bets for the Euros. I dont normally gamble so I thought I'd ask for some advice.

Thinking I will play £25 on outright winners, Maybe over 2 or 3 teams

Spain and Germany seem like wasted bets since their return is so low (5/2 and 3/1) and its not much of a fun bet.

So Im thinking:

Holland (7/1) - £15
France (11/1) - £5
Italy (12/1) - £5

Sound like a good bet?
I did considered England but they always seem to under perform at big Tournaments.

Italy at 12/1 seems decent enough.

Getting my bet's in around Tuesday/Wednesday next week unless I get round to doing it this weekend. My main bet will certainly be Italy, I think you can still get them at 14's, though most places have them at 12's now.

I've got no real interest in Spain or Germany because their odds are so small so unless you plan on sticking a decent amount on, which I don't really fancy this time around.

I'll also have a few quid on a couple of top scorers. Gomez is a cert for me, 8/1 I think you can get him at.

Also some fantastic odds on the player of the tournament. Might throw a few quid on Benzema and one or two more, as you really never know with these ones.

England to get knocked out in QF, 2/1
If England quailfy from their group they either meet,Spain or Italy in QF,
Obviously Spain and Italy have to qualify from their groups but it would be a surprise if they dont.

Benzema looks a good bet to be player of the tournament, while Gomez should be one of the leading scorers. They are both in hot form but we all know what football is like. Certainly Spain and Germany, along with Holland are the best teams in the Finals but I am hoping the old Azzurri can come good.

Germany for me but 3/1 isn't worth it. I do have a slight fancy towards France. Think i'll just go the each way with them.

I had Mario Gomez top scorer for 2008 and he couldn't score in a brothel that summer. I think in the opening game v Poland he missed an open goal and had missed others. Missed an easy chance 2nd game and was dropped for the 3rd.

Fernando Torres to come good and be top scorer

I bet on Gomez as well. He was supposed to e some sort of goal machine but he seems to struggle in the big games. But his compatriot Lahm could be a good bet for player of the tournament. Always solid.

I know they arent fancied, but I may have a punt at Portugal at 20/1 for a tenner.

Goalscorer Ronaldo at 14/1 (if he decides to stay on his feet this tournament) is a long shot, but hey I am an eternal optimist......

Considering the ridicule Torres and Carroll have had to tolerate this season it would be kinda nice if they were both joint top scorer

Also judging by the stats thrown up by Twitter , Holland should be in with a shout as they have two of Europe's big hitters in RVP and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

On a personal note , I'm hoping that my beloved Ibra has a fantastic time , plays well , scores some fantastic goals and earns himself a move back to Barca

Andy Carroll 50/1 to be leading scorer. Just saying.

I'd agree it would be a surprise if BOTH Spain and italy failed to clear the group stage, but this Ireland team has sharpened up since the qualifiers ended with the addition and influence of James McLean. So even allowing for bias on my part, I think one of the big ones will probably take a tumble before the QFs.

If you whack £20 on someone with Ladbrokes for the golden boot, they give you a £5 bet for every goal that player scores. That's got to be worth a pop.

.
bet365 still have italy as 14s

im very tempted to have a fiver on england being lowest scoring team at 22/1. Dont think its beyond the realms of possibility that we dont score in all 3 of our games

Now you have me thinking ..

So , £20 on Andy C would give a return of £1,000 plus if he WAS top scorer with 6 goals that would leave £30 for future bets ???

I'm ever so slightly tempted .

On the other hand that's also a decent bet

I'd double-check the small print of course, but I think that's it yeah. I'm definitely getting involved with that one.

I've just got on betfair and have had a fair bit of recent success.

Think there is an opportunity here by betting on a Top goal scorer from an 'easy' group and then laying it off when the going gets a little tougher.

Similarly betting on a more outside chance team and laying in running should they qualify would lock in a decent return.

I will have a look and post back my tips or more likely ones to avoid

Should be a good tournament.

Good luck everyone with their bets.

Sweden i think will be the dark horses this year

Isaksson
Lustig - Olsson - Melburg - Olsson
Wilhelmsson - Svensson - Kallstrom - Larsson
Ibrahimović - Elmander

Plus exciting players such as Elm & Toivonen to call on.
I can see them posing sides a few problems, if their defence plays as a unit.

I've got a bet running on RVP to be top prem goalscorer and top scorer at the Euro's. Haven't looked at it for some time, but I think I got it at 100/1. Only a couple of quid on it though. Will do a screenshot of it if it wins.

Otherwise, will be checking out the odds/specials this weekend (especially Celesti's bet) and probably post my bet midweek. Can't really see beyond Holland, Germany and Spain. But there's always a couple of surprises... Ashley Young as top England goalscorer and Portugal to make the semi's are the two outside bets for me ATM.....

have stuck a fiver on each of italy at 14-1, holland at 13-2 and van persie top goalscorer at 9-1

will look at a few other sneaky ones too. The more i look at that england one being lowest scorers at 22-1 the more i think its worth a couple of quid. We could top the group, we could also have two 0-0s and a 1-0
